Why MY State is Beautiful

Sweet!
Does your outhouse have satellite tv too?

I certainly could set that up. The ONLY thing that works down there is a satellite phone or satellite type comm. I have had the place for 25 years and remodeling kitchens presented me with some very cool "assessories". Like that 16' Corian counter with a molded sink and coved splash. I could go there right now with what I have on my back and exist for at least 3 weeks before I had to come out for supplies.

There is so much great about Pa!
  1. Uh.....
  2. Hmmm......
  3. Well.......
  4. I'm thinkin here....
  5. Trees, if you like trees, this is the place, whew!
  6. Ok, cheesesteaks, with Wiz
  7. Outhouses
  8. Uh......
  9. Uh......
  10. Scrapple, yeah!

Ok, so there are some pretty historic places.
Gettysburg
Valley Forge
Philadelphia
Poconos are beautiful - kinda partial tho
It gets hard to think fast doesn't it? Lol. You forgot the Pocanos.(the oldtime bands that used to play there)

LOL, unless the better-half starts complaining about cold/snow. I kinda like the 4-seasons,kinda!
I'd be happy if it was 30 degrees with snow on the ground all winter:thumbsup:.

Honestly winter has a few good points..

#1 Crappy weather is the perfect excuse to get stuff done indoors. (I'm very productive in the winter).

#2 The lack of plant growth and wet ground in the winter is perfect for cleaning out the woods and clearing brush.

#3 Freezing temps kill off ticks, mosquitos, etc.

#4 It would be pretty miserable hunting in 90 degree weather.

#5 Kids love sled riding.

I think western Pennsylvania is absolutely beautiful. And,of course, Carlisle !

I'd eat it, but I don't think Mormons partake in that.
You'd be surprised, remember Utah is the capital of child bearing. You got to taste it before you hit it.

AND the whole state practically shuts down during hunting season. Remember coming across I-80 to get to Allentown and hunters lined up trying to get across the interstate! AND the Pocano's are simply gorgeous.
I grew up in PA.

How about the places that make your jaw drop. They do not have to be in your home state. Some of my favorites:
  • Gettysburg, PA. Stand there on the ridge where Pickett's charge occured on a misty summer morning and try not to tear up.
  • The Grand Canyon National Park, AZ. If you've never been there, there is no amount of pictures, videos, or books that can prepare you when you stand on that rim.
  • Redwood & Sequoia National Parks, CA. Again, I knew they were big trees, but you really have to stand there and look up.
  • Mammoth Cave, KY. Look at the name, and bring a jacket in August.
  • Smoky Mountains,TN-NC Stunningly BEAUTIFUL.
  • The Outer Banks, NC, solitude, surf fishing with no-one in sight.
  • Bar Harbor, ME, picturesque rugged coastline and some of the best lobster in the world.
  • I have many many more, and need suggestions, camping season is getting closer.

My state has plenty of beautiful things, but what I love most about Iowa is what it doesn't have...... PEOPLE!

For me I can find anything I want in Ohio w/in 2hrs of me. Nice lakes, shopping, camping, hiking, car shows, affordable housing etc.

I live just south of the snow belt so theres not a terrible snow fall amounts and to be honest most yrs only January and February are brutally cold.

Oh and best of all there are 7 dragstrips w/in a 2 hrs drive.

Try Carolina Beach in N. Carolina. Best vacation we ever took. Reminded me of the Outer Banks 30 yrs ago.

My only visit to Utah, a few years ago, to Park City for a winter ski vacation... wow, what a beautiful state ! We went snowmobiling up to 11,000 ft. If I recall, I was mesmerized by the winter beauty up there. I felt I was inside a Christmas card.
Utah is beautiful in the Winter.

My favorite of all is the great state of Texas. It's like a country by itself. Been to the panhandle, west Texas, Dallas metro, central Texas. Particularly, I like the hill country west of Austin. I'd like to visit the gulf area soon.

More beautiful California.
