Only two companies? There are more than that. Between manufacturing plants in the USA, China, Portugal, Switzerland, Japan, Germany, Russia, Canada, India and a lot of other countries, here's a list of dozens of battery manufacturers. http://jgdarden.com/batteryfaq/batbrand.htmWal-Mart. From what I understand, Batteries are manufactured by only 2 companies, Exide and Johnson Controls. Delphi used to be another manufacturer, but I think one of the other two bought it out. So, no matter what the label, it's probably one or the other of the two.
Is the DieHard line going to die out down there? Even with no Sears left in Canada I can buy a DieHard battery at Kal Tire.Interstate brand from Costco will be my next battery, but the soon to be history is Sears Diehard that I had real good luck with.
I have one in my 442. It went bad because I let it sit discharged for a year. O'Reilly warrantied it at 2 yrs, 6 months no charge. Worth the extra cost as it was $200 when I bought it and now sells for $295.AGM-type batteries hand vibration much better & Optima's are really good (expensive too). I have had good luck with your basic 3-year warranty, highest CCA part-store batteries myself.
Go to your dealer and grab a mopar battery, that's all I've been using and they last....
I bet a company bought the DieHard line, that would be great. Is the DieHard line going to die out down there? Even with no Sears left in Canada I can buy a DieHard battery at Kal Tire.
