Snow!...Snow!!.....SNOWWWW!!!!

Fellas, and Mistress LeAnna, it's days like today that make me glad to be retired. 2 feet of snow overnight. Geezzzz. Went out and fed the donkey butts, and sheep sheep, the chick-o-lickins have feed and water, the duck ducks are wallowing in their pool and the big dog had fun romping in the snow. Now it's breakfast in front of a roaring fire. Watching world from inside. How's your day going??
Good for you, I was looking forward to all the snow yesterday but the temps stayed in the mid 30's.... rained all freaking day. We got maybe 4" overnight, pretty pathetic compared to what they were predicting but it's better than nothing.

I was about to call bullshit on the weather report of a big storm yesterday. But overnight it cut loose. Whiteout right now, cant see the road 50' away.

In the winter up here we tend to keep stocked up on the essentials; hay, feed, food, water, wood pellets, ice cream....

Well come on up here.....lots of snow to spare...lol.

We missed our Thanksgiving vacation this year. Oliver left us for doggie Heaven on Nov. 15th so we didn't make it to the cottage in Newfane. Is that anywhere near you? We shop in Putney a lot as well as Brattleboro. 5 years ago we left early to run into 9 inches of snow for Thanksgiving on the Rock River. Nice scenic country you got there. The snow covered trees were breathtaking.

Newfane is about an hour and a half or so below me. I'm 30 miles North and West of Rutland. We had a wet snow a week or so ago and the next morning was a wonderland. Very scenic... We go to Putney sometimes. Sorry about Oliver, RIP, it's always hard to lose our animal friends.

About 6" of snow here in Cincinnati overnight and blowing pretty good. Haven't heard the storm windows rattle like that in some time. 10 deg now heading to -8 overnight. Pretty brisk for this area. Supposed to warm up to low 40s by Tuesday and then another dip into the teens with more snow later in the week. After a very mild Nov/Dec, we are definitely making up for lost time!

Either way, I have snowshoes and tall boots.

LOL...... Yeah that may have worked 30 years ago, I would need a nap, in between strapping the left and right snowshoe on. Not to mention I would only make 50 ft or so, then what....the wife would have to drag my sorry *** carcass, back to the house and remind me of how old I am..Nah, I think I'm past that point.

LMAO! I didn't say it would be any fun, just that I have them....lol. Hate snow shoes, too much of a workout. But, I do have to go out to the barn at least twice a day, no matter what. Might have to wear them tonight, the way things look outside. Might take a rope with me and tie it off to the fence, house, and barn so I don't get lost out there...I'm not above texting the wife from the barn and staying with the animals either...donkeys are warm, who knew?

If I have to go out in this kind of weather I definitely dress for it. I have no plans to freeze to death half way between the barn and house.

Only 6" of snow here in Northwest Connecticut after an initial prediction of up to 14". Got the driveway snow-blowed just before 6AM. The overnight sleet has turned to freezing rain which is currently coming down at a good clip. Roads are horrible as I just returned from my usual breakfast with the guys at the Riverton General Store. 24 degrees now with "significant icing" expected in my area (in excess of 1/2") for the next several hours. Not good. Fire is going here too. I'm definitely in for the day. Stay safe everyone...

Our old double hung wood frame windows used to rattle and leak, then last year we replaced all of them. Quiet and warm now. Best investment we made last year.

Are you crazy, take us back to the wood stove!!! LOL
Scary 'chit huh? Our old log cabin is pretty snug, new metal roof keeps the snow from piling up and turning the place into a refrigerator. New windows are keeping the heat in nicely, need new doors next. drafty. yeah, i'm not liable to stray too far from this stove today until sundown when I have to venture back out to the barn...

I did make a nice apple pie last night, so, that's in the plus column...the snow plow sailed by again.
