Ever go back and look at the posts you made when others clicked "LIKE" ?

I do it almost every time. Sometimes I go back looking at an old topic and click a Like or Agree and later see that someone made a new post afterwards....Maybe because of them seeing the alert?
I do like seeing a nice list of ALERTS in the corner display.
What is the MOST alerts you have ever had in one day?
Ever get a load of DISAGREEs and wonder WTF everyone else was thinking?
Some guys on these forums seem to throw out a BUNCH of pictures as if they are baiting members to LIKE or AGREE. One guy seemed to purposely post lots of memes about Veterans and it just seemed less than genuine. Who is going to Disagree with supporting a Veteran? Surely you clicked LIKE for that, right?
I used to see people online with huge Post Counts and thought that they must be smart or really "in the know". That isn't always the case but I would be more inclined to trust a person with 200 posts before a guy with 3.
I'm sure a few get some sort of thrill with a growing post or LIKE count. That is fine but it will never get me a free meal or a 60 minute full release Massage at Mrs Wang's house of pleasure.
I try to post pictures or memes that I personally find funny or obnoxious. I try to post comments that are funny, blatantly homophobic, dumb as **** and sometimes helpful. If I know that someone found my post worthy of a response, that is great. If they just read and move along, that is fine too.

a 60 minute full release Massage at Mrs Wang's house of pleasure.
Do tell more....please. :D

I agree with what you say above Greg. I give Likes or Thanks as an appreciation of a great post, or a post that made me chuckle. It is not given to boost anyone's account...but more a sign to the poster that I appreciated their contribution to the site. :)

And about going over old posts which garnered a Like etc, it is good to read something that you wrote a couple of years earlier, and find that someone else enjoyed what you posted.

Yeah - I’d like to know a little more about Mrs Wangs place too....

It’s also nice to see a few agree or appreciate what you posted. Maybe it’s funny, maybe it’s helpful.... I find the amount of knowledge on FBBO is almost mind boggling. Especially when I was restoring the GTX - I got soooo much help from those that know so much more than I do it’s amazing. I kind of stumbled on this site while searching for parts. I’ve never looked back and enjoy the general stuff like this post as much as the informative threads. Likes or disagrees - doesn’t matter - it’s all good...

:luvplace:.....I know that I do.......have learned alot from this site and all of the characters that make this site very informative and fun. Thanks, to all of you!

So if I get the gist of KD's post, it would be that he tries to be original in his contributions
- as opposed to the strafing run posts some do - and appreciates it when others show their appreciation
of his efforts, eh?
I concur, sir. Ditto.
Even my little meme retorts in some threads usually have intent, even if only to poke a rib here and there -
and I always, without fail, am hoping the conversation goes further from there and that folks with more
knowledge and expertise (always the case, least with me, BTW) will chime in and knowledge will be shared.
"Likes" to me at least usually just mean others are seeing where I'm headed with something and dig it, too.

I love how "and sometimes helpful" is at the bottom of your list of reasons to post Kern!
Sometimes when I see a "so-and-so liked your post" I go back to it thinking "WTF did I post?!" 'cause most of the time I don't remember jacksquat...if it's a thread I started that's a little different; I can usually remember those:rolleyes:
Too much stuff in bean's head sometimes..

I enjoy people enjoying any post. I have no idea how to reach the most possible likes and there is no reward for or reason other than thinking you're liked the most. At the end of the day, 3 likes that saved someone is a better feeling than 40 thousand pictures. It's all about making it informative and fun, both are needed.

The like and agree is cool, but the disagree don’t bother me. We all see things different.

Just because a poster has 3 posts doesn’t mean he is lacking knowledge, experience, or skill. Likewise for someone with thousands of posts. Those guys post silly stuff or just guess at problem solving.

We all started posts at zero. But how do you know if somebody is 17 and a greenhorn, or 50-70 years old and been a chrysler mechanic his whole life?

I came here from moparts because of the sour attitudes and then the infolinks ads just ruined that place. No other website goofs up my machine like that one. I never needed to change browsers or an adblocker for any other website. So I’m outta there.

I like Mrs. Twaaaaang's place butter! :D Even when I hit the dreaded red X......it's usually a mustake.

well, its kind of a dual thing...
personally,i like to hit the like or agree if the poster provided usefull info or a hella good laugh.
(side note to Joey,we really could use a laughing emote in the agree/disagree/like lineup.)
it doesnt really matter to me who it is,
unless its someone like jb400 whos more interested in post counts than mopars.
i simply cannot fathom being a member of a forum merely to boast about your post count.
id rather see and answer a million help me posts than 1 of those.

on the flip side, there are those types who Never give out likes and agrees,
never thank anyone for their help, etc etc.
and that says a lot about their personality.
those are the ones who dont care about anyones opinion but their own.
and thats them,thats fine.

people are different, and we just cant expect them all to be ...civilized? lol.

I go back periodically just to see that what I wrote is actually what I intended to say.
I can’t stand internet trolls and douchebags. Every now and then I get caught up in the moment and emotion and become one. Then I have to edit or delete...

When I receive feedback on a question or other type of post I try to always click the thanks emoji just to show appreciation for their consideration.

I used to hit like a lot more but I think it tends to feed a darker side of people who "need" the ego boost.

I use the thanks emoji most of the time; it's just good manners.

Like Roger said, I'll give it a like if the post makes me laugh out loud or makes a really good point.
