Guys, on my 68 charger I want to get that awesome rake look by jacking up the rear. How do I do that? How much lift does the Gabriel airshocks give you? I want to be 3” from tire to fender.

I got my new rims and fat Mickey Thompson’s ready to go!

I would try some blocks or buy springs with an extra arch built in. I've seen to many upper shock mounts broke from running air shocks. Could also try an add a leaf kit to your existing springs.

Ok thank you! What type of blocks are you referring to?

Change rims with a different offset. Could narrow the rear end. Add a leaf to your springs. Or you could just get new front spring hangers with two wholes in it. But then you would have to adjust your pinion angle. Or put on the long rear hangers.

Here’s one way. Lol

Sorry wasn't thinking clearly. My son is messing around with blocks on a Dodge pickup which has the axle below the springs. Blocks will only lower our Mopar cars because the axle is above the springs. A couple of members here have used an add a leaf from Summit to get about an inch rise. Otherwise you will probably have to buy springs.

You could add a little rake by lowering the front torsion bars a little but you will need to have an alignment redone most likely.

The purpose of springs on a car are to bear the weight of the vehicle; they are to be used to establish
ride height.
Shocks are engineered to control movements of the vehicle, but never to bear the weight of it.
Do it the right way - with springs and tire/wheel heights.
