I know what I call hot wont be what many of you Southern USA residents will call hot but it was 33c/92f here today and has been around there for the last week or so....anything over about 80 is unusual here....so my witty colleague sent me this....

"With highs of 33° expected AGAIN today, it's time to ask "could the government have done more?" Downing Street knew about this heatwave weeks ago and have done nothing. Shipments of 400,000 pairs of Speedos and 500,000 bikinis, sun cream and Cornettos have reportedly been sent back as unsafe after media claims the shipment was quarantined a month ago and Boris did nothing.

Karen from Chavington said, "We just don't know if it's safe to go outside and sunbathe because we can't function or think for ourselves. Boris hasn't told us either way and all my obese kids need ice cream and sweets, the Hubby can't get out to rob anyone so we're out of lager and weed, I blame the government entirely"

Meanwhile, anti- heat protesters dressed in thick jumpers chanting "cold lives matter" have marched on London, Big Ben has been removed and a giant Mint Feast put in its place by protesters.

The BBC reported earlier, 'clearly the sun has come out and Downing street have done nothing to prevent it.'

A second heat Wave is expected to hit the UK in 4 weeks time!"

Wife accidentally set the thermostat to 64F last night before going to bed. Been freezing my *** off all day. Finally found her mistake and moved it back up to 72F a little while ago. Low to mid 90's outside here most the time in the summer with little humidity.

Its the humidity that's the bitch !!

Because of the weather we normally have houses here are simply not built with AC...for the three days a years we might actually need it....just good heating! I like the heat....I lust hate not being able to sleep in 70f plus humid nights!

101 in the shade in driveway! 26% humidity.

The cloudy skies and rain will be back soon. Enjoy the sunshine, you guy's don't get nearly enough! 440'

It’s 104* and humid as hell. Our ac is set at 78 during the day and 77 at night. But I’m glad we don’t have anymore 100 plus days that went for30-60 days in a row. I agree the climate has changed, got cooler here and warmer somewhere else.

Wow, real scorcher!!

We are currently 103, it has cooled down....
Expecting 109 Friday the 14th of August and then 111 Saturday/Sunday/Monday....
I'd have a sweater on over there

Its hot here also, been in the 90's most of the summer, and now the wild fires are smoking up that entire area. New fire just west of here started and grew to 500 acres in less than 2 hours. Its nuts!

People that think like this usually vote a certain way here in the States.
They are not independent thinkers. They always seem to blame others for their troubles and look for help instead of figuring it out themselves. They are the scourge.

Shhhhhhhhh,
Got to be P.C here K.D.

Been a cold wet summer up in northern BC Canada this year..BTW I'm a huge fan of the cold. ;) We have had maybe a weeks worth of temps over 25*C, most of the days are wet, cloudy and a high of 15*C. Heck it went down to 3*C the other morning at my place...I friggin love it!!

Its a different type if heat too. In the UK 90 degrees is torture, whereas 90 degrees in Texas is considered pleasant.

Wow, the government should have done more, They have already done enough damage...

An interesting thought came to mind the other day, here in Ontario, we have had a great summer, 28 to 30 c for weeks. Because, I'm in the H.V.A.C.R. industry, checking the weather, every day is vital. The one thing I have noticed this summer, is the jet stream path. For the past couple of years, it has been high in the west coast, makes it's way across the prairies, then seemed to dip down around Hudson's bay. This seemed to keep Ontario temps much lower. Well this year, out west, has our temps and we have their's. The reason I bring this up, is, back to 911, with air travel suspended, there was mention that domestic aviation, was altering the jet stream. With the reduction of air travel due to covid, I wonder if there is a connection

92% humidity and had a few days with a 100 degree heat index in New Jersey
This week end is suppose to get back to part normal

I find it difficult to believe that Aircraft can change the Air stream, Flying in USAF "Electronics-Platforms" for 18 years.....
As Jet streams are currents of air high above the Earth.
They only move eastward at altitudes of, say typically 5 to 9 miles.
They only appear/form where large temperature differences exist in the atmosphere.
Yup, hard to fathom Aircraft cause variations in the Jet Stream...
But ya know?
