2 years ago I sent my converter in to Pro Torque in long Island for a refresh. They charged me about 300 bucks including shipping and took about 2 weeks to get it back to me.
In December, after I blew my engine, I decided to send it back to them again.
Now, I understand a couple of things that impacted what happened next.
1. Covid. It fucked everything up.
2. Pro Torque merged with Boninfante friction in P.A.
I thought I was very patient and gave them plenty of leeway due to the circumstances.
On May 4, 5 months after I sent it in, I contacted Mike at pro torque and got a long response. I accepted the response and moved on.
On September 23, after not hearing anything for another 4 months, I contacted Mike again.
He responded that he was shocked that he didn't get a response again and would be in touch.
Another month passed and I cc'd rob Boninfante with my disappointment in what was going on.
I stated that is has been almost a year and that they must have lost it. I wanted to know what they would do for me.
He got back to me the next day and told me to shoot him a text.
I did and he told me he would get to the bottom of this by noon.
5 minutes later he sends me a text and says he found it and would have them work on it immediately.
The next day I get a text that its finished.
I text back "thank you very much" and " email me what I owe you".
I usually don't expect anything from anyone, but this time...
I get the bill, and its 416.50.
Rob had first texted me and said this was the first that he had heard of the problem.
I went back and looked at the original email that I sent and he was cc'd by Mike on that and on every subsequent email.
I paid the invoice, but probably should have bitched about it.
Last time for pro torque for me.
I've used PTC a couple times in the past for new builds and thats where I'll send everything from now on.
