Was cleaning out my storage shed and found this old thing - was kinda curious if anything knew anything about it. It is (obviously) an MSD box - probably older as the design is dated. The sticker is faded and non-readable but appears to be maybe a late 70's 6A box?

Interesting thing is it has a connector for the factory mopar electronic ignition plug -- never seen one like this so thought it was kinda cool.

Anyone know anything ?

Definitely old, and for mopars. I remember the first guys around town with them. Serious racecar stuff! LOL

I realize this is an old thread, but does anyone have one of these for sale?

How about a part number?

I have one, refurbished by MSD and with instructions sheet. But pics are on my PC and I'm right now posting from my iPad at bed LOL.

Also I'm in Spain and my car and related parts are still in Venezuela

These are some screenshots of some old sales on ebay of these boxes

Me? no... I'm just showing for the PN which still remains on box, since you asked by some PN... the original one from back of the days... then the other ones maybe newer numbers for later versions ?

Ok, thanks for the part number.

My black Mopar Performance box doesn't have the Mopar specific plug.

Where those CDI Boxes ?

Or

Basically just an aftermarket replacement for the factory 5 pin ECU I would think ?

I have one as well. It works great, I'll have to find it and post up a photo. I bought it new in the MSD box NOS. I think it's red as well, it was before the MSD6's I think. It came with a supertrick short piece of wire to jump the ballast resistor. I probably still have the box cw instructions etc.

Yeap, as far I know requires the ballast bypass AND some other minor wiring mod job. The box I got it came with the original instructions but as mentioned is 6500 miles from me.

I put one of those on my Duster back in the mid 70's. Great unit. They also made a 7C unit which I used later on for the same car. Need a wiring diagram?

If you're asking if I need one....not really....I was just after one with a factory Mopar plug......thought it would be kind of neat.
