DOGS

Yeah I don't even know if they have accessible tech for that for reg people. I always worry, once I took my dog to a dog friendly beach in Carmel. First time there and I have my dog on a leash since I don't know how she would behave. Some lady started giving me grief saying I have to trust my dog, I'm thinking get away from me you hippy!
If it was a shorter drive I would have gone back and after awhile let her off the leash, but I was too paranoid to do that on a first visit.
I have to be very careful with Cora. She is a real sweetheart, and usually extremely sociable with other dogs. However, much like me she has ZERO patience with little yappy dogs, and if they were to get in her face it would be over before they could say “ouch!” So although she plays well but rough with dogs, I can’t chance taking her to a dog park or dog beach in case one gets in her face. I’m six foot two, a hundred eighty pounds and it’s literally all I can do to hold her back. If she was to catch me off guard I couldn’t hold her back. She definitely isn’t the toughest dog around, but she can really fight and I don’t want her hurt or hurting someone else’s dog.
It’s funny, because she knows I won’t let her kill our cats so she avoids them as much as she can. We have four, and one wants to be her friend and one absolutely hates her and bullies her relentlessly. And she absolutely adores small children. At Halloween she greeted them all at the door and a few times followed them out into the driveway.

The only dog of my three that I would trust at a dog park.... can't go. He's deaf, and if he's not looking at me I can't call him back. And frankly, even if he WAS looking, I don't know if he'd ignore me.
And he gets so excited when he sees his leash for either a walkie or a ride in the truck, he pees himself.

One of our dogs, Jake the one who got bouncy after taking a dump, would get all excited when I got home. To the point where he was so excited, he would pee on me. I got to where I would ignore him, no pets etc, and would make him go pee in the open lot next to us. After that, I would greet him back

Come on Dad catch a fish for once!!!

My chihuahua would pee easily if she got spooked, especially when she first moved in and apparently had abuse in the past. Don't think I ever had a dog with happy hello piss though.

It's actually raining in western AZ in May.
Magnum is looking at me like "wth happened to our morning walkies?"
He'd happily go out in the rain. Not me.

Magnum: Hey, where's my walkies?
John: Uh, we are currently experiencing a nasty thunder and lightening storm with heavy rain and flood warnings!
Magnum: So?! What's your point? Wtf are my walkies?!?

I can assure you, if I was willing, he would be an eager participant.

I've taken our brood, both current and past, out for walks in the rain. None of them were happy when we first leave but they get into it once we get moving. Especially if there are puddles and wet grass to play in. For all of them, the highlight is getting toweled off at home. One will always push the other out of the way so they can get the towel love.

My lab pup Baron is a pisser when excited or greats someone
sort of embarrassing, but owe well just a dog
I hope he grows out of that stuff, he's going to be 1 year old on the 15th May,
this month

I got him at 16 weeks
him & his momma, at their ranch in Valley Springs

he is a cute lil' bugger

I wish I got him at 8 weeks, so I could have molded him like the rest
of the last 4 labs I've had, over the past 48+ years
never had a lab or pup so stubborn to learn...

I think them early weeks, right after being winged of the teat,
of their life are really important to their learning
& their total overall development...

Mine Baron is a talker too, he'll bark & whine or moan to get your attention,
sometimes won't stop
The breeders were an older couple, like in their later 70's
I don't think they paid much attention to the pup/s or any real training
they just let the grandkids play with the pups (7 of them),
no real training, but they are highly socialized which is nice
Pup supposed to be house trained/potty trained/kennel trained, he was neither
been a lil' bit of a struggle getting a late start like that...

He's, Still my lil' dude, sidekick...

He's a bit rambunctious zoom zooming around, around my 88 y/o dad,
clips him as he runs by a lot...
I keep telling dad if you hear him, stop & get ready,
he doesn't know he's getting big, it's just excitement, puppy stuff
don't want to completely break his free spirit & scold him constantly...
For doing nothing really wrong...

My dad knows dogs too,
it's like he's never been around an excited 85# pup/yearling
& I know for a fact he has, been around at least 4 of mine & 2 of his own
1 was Baron's name sake
Dad he had a Black lab (Baron) young male like 1 year old
& Yellow Lab (Flash) like 4 years old, really close/bonded to my dad,
when I was like 10, (divorced parents, when I was a baby still)
his Black Lab (Baron) was my side kick, followed me everywhere,
visitation when I was at his/dad's place...

In his spot
by me at the computer, always under my deck right next to me
or next to me at my recliner, wanting to play, with his many toys/balls
wants to tug on everything, pretty damn strong too...

We are very happy that things are going so well. Unfortunately we could not give another dog justice. I can’t do a long walk. Or do the run down stairs and let the dog out.
We had a lever door, and Casey would just stand up push the door open go to the bathroom which was the word we used. Coming back in she would reach up pull the door open, and come in. She never learned to make sure the door was closed.
One time friends brought their son’s pup over. Casey decided she wanted to go out, the pup followed her. When she came back in, she turned around and pushed the door open so the pup could come in.
No intent to hi jack your post.

Many years ago, Jake, when he was still pretty young, was our pisser. He would get all excited to see me when I got home and would let loose on my boots. What I did was not acknowledge him and tell him to go in the field and pee. Only after he let the pressure off would I acknowledge him. He finally grew out of it.

Thor was a pisser but he grew out of it. My renters pup is an excited pisser and went on my shoe. She was so embarrassed, didn’t bother me at the least.

We went up the coast to just south of Ragged Point at Carpoforo Creek. Great day for cruising and the dogs had fun in the water. Chased a tennis ball and a couple of sticks.
