In Auckland NZ, they had the White Ladies of the Night.
They came out around 2300 to cater to the late night crowd.
They were caravans, food trailers, parked next to kerb.
You could get an egg burger, with egg lettuce tomatoe, and a slice of beetroot. And obviously meat.
They were mostly in the New market area, on the Howick side of the road. Howick is a few miles to the East.

You guys spell “curb” funny.

The White Lady still comes out. I was on a 'Boys night' a few years ago and when I eventually got my ham, cheese & sweetcorn toasted sandwich.... I regretted it afterwards.
The sweetcorn gets that hot that I got burns on my lips......needed more beer after that. Good tucker after you've been on the sauce. :p

Are you from Howick? I am virtually there in Half Moon Bay. :)
Used to be in Blockhouse Bay. Made the reference to Howick just for you. My brother used to live in Pakarunga. Now in a care home in Whangarei.
The memory fades, but there was a time when I was familiar with the entire area.

The White Lady used to park just down from the Office where I worked about 15 years ago - in Nuffield Street, Newmarket.

After our front glass windows were scratched up one night by vandals, I dressed up a Mannequin I had as a deterrent and placed him near the front windows inside. Looked cool at night with one red LED in his eye.

Although the pilot for Gilligan's Island was shot in Hawaii, the rest of the show was filmed in California at the CBS Radford Studios. During the off season, the lagoon was drained to provide parking.

Later, that same sound stage was used for the production of 'The Mary Tyler Moore' show.

"Gilligans Island" is only 1/5 a mile off the shore of Kaneohe Bay.

This is Ascot Park in Gardena, California. The track opened in 1957 on a former dump site and was first named Los Angeles Speedway, later becoming New Ascot Stadium and then Ascot Park. The main track was a half mile dirt racetrack oval. The track held numerous USAC national tour races and three NASCAR Grand National races in its early years. The Turkey Night Grand Prix was held at the track for several decades. Evel Knievel made his first televised jump there in 1967. Several TV shows and movies filmed there, including CHiPs, of course. It was very well-known as a flat track for motorcycle racing, too, and every top racer turned laps there. J.C. Agajanian first brought big-time racing to Ascot Park and the track exploded in popularity in the '60s and '70s. Starting in 1976 Agajanian inked a 15-year lease on the Speedway, but when the Los Angeles area experienced massive growth in the 1980s, the property became too valuable for race tracks - the same fate that many racing venues meet. So, before the September 1990 AMA Grand National flat track race it was announced that it would be the final motorcycle racing event at Ascot. The final race there at the track was a USAC Midget race in November of 1990. And then another legendary track was lost...

The Jetsons aired in prime time from September 1962 until March 17, 1963 on ABC. Reruns, syndication and a reboot later would cement its popularity, but the original series had 24 episodes and aired on Sunday nights on ABC beginning on September 23, 1962, with prime time reruns continuing through September 22, 1963. It debuted as the first program broadcast in color on ABC, back in the early 1960s when only a handful of ABC stations were capable of broadcasting in color. In contrast, The Flintstones, while always produced in color, was broadcast in black-and-white for its first two seasons...

The Jetsons predicted robot servants, talking alarm clocks, dog treadmills (I know, I know), pollution, flat screen TVs, video chats, smart watches, technologies specifically for kids (anti-gravity boots, jet packs, electronics, video games, etc.), drones, Roombas, digital newspapers, 3D printed food / automated food, PillCam, and space tourism...

14 Times The Jetsons Predicted the Future

Think that The Jetsons was a silly cartoon about flying cars and space ships? Think again! In some ways, it actually got the future right!
