New 2 Door Dodger Charger, Unfortunately An EV.

I'd agree. Then again, you can still buy a 2025 Durango SRT with the supercharged hellcat engine, so who knows.
There are rules for trucks?

There are rules for trucks?
I would think so, they're listed on the EPA site. However, the Durango is classed differently as a mid sized SUV, not a truck. The next (2026) version likely won't have the hemi any more, as it will be a new design based on the STLA Large platform that the new Charger is using. So will also likely have an electric version.

...... the net is now chock full of new engine rumors for the Charger. EVs are history.

I wouldn't mind the EV option staying available but when you are forced to buy nothing BUT electric, I say screw that...
I'm not interested in buying one but if others do, good for them.
IF the new trend of FREEDOM gains traction, some regulations can be lifted or eliminated which will slow or even REVERSE some oppressive EPA Clean Air/Green mandates and limitations.

Stellantis missed the boat when they built the Charger, It never should have been a 4 door when they brought it back , And now it should never be electric or a 6 cylinder. A real disgrace to such a iconic piece of automotive history.

I don’t mind either option, wasn’t the original available with the slant 6?
I just don’t like electric being the only option for the first year, not crazy about no V8 but we’ve been there before and they came back.
For myself I may consider a turbo 6 model with good options once they hit the used market as my "practical" car.

Supposedly the latest inside scoop says,Stellantis engineers were told to make the 6.4 392 Hemi fit into the new Charger body.
We do have several new Charger 2 door and 4 door prototypes we have been using for development with Left over Hemi's in them as well as Hurricanes in them.

It's a good looking 2 door. Body in white ?

Don't need no damn batteries!

Ok Mexico was my funny street racing answer.
Not having a track and maybe just getting older means I probably won't care about getting the quickest stage of that car. For a couple of years I had a 2019 Scat Pack Challenger and in my little town I felt like I spent most of my time restraining myself and it was less fun than a 2018 V6 Camaro that I had because of that.
Don't get me wrong, there were moments where it was wayyyyy more fun too. But either way because of that if I do get a new Charger I'll just get the turbo 6 and call it done.
Also no one point out what a hypocrite I am if down the road in another thread you see me put in a motor with about the same power as a scat pack in my Coronet which doesn't have the benefit of bigger tires and traction control, I always said this hobby is where I throw logic out the window.

Saw the first tv commercial for it today, eck :screwy:

Lack of sales will kill of the entire model line unless they put the Hemi in it.

Dodge Is Already Killing Off the Base Charger EV: Report

The electric Scat Pack will apparently be the only electric Charger for 2026.

It looks like the Dodge Charger Daytona will slim down for 2026. And we aren't talking about weight or dimensions. The entry-level R/T trim has been cut from the lineup, per a report from Mopar Insiders. That leaves the Scat Pack as the only choice for buyers seeking an electric Charger.
Not that many people were lining up to get one. Charger sales dropped 54 percent in 2024, but that percentage still included an unknown number of previous-generation models still running gas engines. Dodge broke out BEV sales for the first quarter of 2025, during which only 1,947 were sold. That includes R/T and Scat Pack trims, but Mopar Insiders highlights data showing 3,500 R/Ts currently sitting in dealership lots.

Dodge did not immediately respond when reached by Motor1 for comment on the news. We'll be sure to update this article once we hear back.

Saw one at local Dodge store: $90,003. Base price was $55,000, and one option package added $26,000. No thanks.
