If one were not looking for performance, this car would be great. The styling is superb.
A buddy seat and column shift makes for a comfortable combination since the buddy seat doubles as a nice arm rest.
The body is presentable enough as it is.

I like it, for 25-35k it's a great buy. If the body is as solid as it appears.

Thats kind of surprising that if sold for that low of an amount, but I think that the 318 and the color are whats holding it back.

I came close to bidding, but when you factor in 10% buyer fee and 2k for shipping. Not a very attractive deal.

Late to the party, but, I LOVE my white Charger 500...but I am going to replace the 149K original 318 with a '69 X-head 340, LOL!!

It has bucket seats.... And a center folding arm rest.... Console is floor shift, this car is column shift...
Yes, I saw all of that. I misspoke in my first post I guess. I thought all 500s had console and buckets as part of the 500 trim package. Thought you could only get a column shift on a base Charger.

The owner of the 1970 Charger Registry could actually shed some light on this but I don't think he spends much time on forums.
I'm no fan of the guy but he does compile some great stats regarding production numbers and options with the 1970 Chargers.

Good call. I checked the registry and their options page. It does show a buddy seat option for the 500. It also shows the only 3 speed column shift as a manual...not an auto.

This is an oddball car. Either that, or I'm not finding all the information.

I saw a slant six 500 parked on the street at the annual Spring Fling in Van Nuys CA. I thought that with the 500, the 318 was standard. The registry showed that many were actually built with the slant six. That was a surprise.
A slant six is a decent engine in a light A body or a farm truck but a Charger ?

Yeah, it only shows 318, 383/2, or 383/4 as engine options on the page. It also only shows 8.75 rears...but I know for a fact that mine is an 8.25. I'd say the page doesn't list standard equipment...but there's no price on the 318 line, indicating that as the standard equipment.

I'd rock a /6 Charger, all day long. I love my 'pedestrian' 318 car. I don't need it to go fast - it's a cruiser, a profiler. 230hp gets down the road just fine, and keeps up with traffic with no problem. And with the stock highway gears, it's turning about 2100rpm at 80. I'm good with that. And a /6 would add "oddball" and "rare" to the list! I had a /6 Volare that I never should have sold. Factory R12 AC car, blew 34 degrees at idle in 90 degree weather, and got mid-20s for mpg.

But...I'm weird.
