Bringing my newborn son the 120 miles home in style. 426 Hemi Challenger style. Then a few years later out in the Hemi Cuda. 7000RPM Powershifts were made that day, Could be last time anyone drove a real Hemi Cuda the way Mopar intended.

Did you sell the Duster and leave it here in Hawaii, or did you take it back to the mainland when you left. I know a guy that picked up a 70 red 340 duster earlier this year. Looks similar, except some one had added the two Dart Swinger hood scoops, and centerline rims.

Took it with me when I transferred to Pt Mugu. CA. Sold it to a guy in Oxnard, CA when I transferred to Dallas. He sold it within a year to some dude who pulled the 340 and swapped it into his /6 '66(?) Barracuda and the /6 into the Duster 340. . Told him he just devalued his investment (s). That was in 1990/ '91. Lost track after that. Made me I'll just hearing what he'd done.

Was the 340 quicker? I know you raced them...

Actually, we didn't. If I remember correctly, he had a 400? I did run mine at Campbell Industrial Park, just west of Barber's Point...they had bought their 'christmas tree' from the Dust Devil's who used it at the Inyokern Airport. I ran my pickup there as a high schooler. With that Duster I had to ease outta the hole or it would just roast tires.
