Not bad. Would not imagine that it would take you very long to get home from Carlise at that speed. I've done a century in my car, but I'm a careful driver and you'll not see me on You Tube getting unwanted attention.

That's one ate up gas tank. I'm surprised you found even the locking ring worth saving. Fortunately that shouldn't be a problem as B body tanks for those years are still in demand. Hope you score a sending unit too as whatever was in the old tank wasn't likely to be useable.

Looking good. Your body man seems to do good collision work. How is he with rust damage?

Where were you, In the summer of '73? American Graffiti turns 50 years old.

Since I was born in October, I would have been 21 during the summer of 1973. I saw the movie at a drive-in and liked it, even though it was supposed to be describing things that teenagers were doing a decade ago in the early 60s e.g., cruising the main drag looking for action, street racing...

This was a stop we made on 2023's National De Soto Club meet. We had a private showing of his Cadillac collection and we stayed for a bit for his Thursday night Cruise In. Thanks Steve.

    68 Chrysler T and C wagon

I had a 1967 Dodge Polara ex-Indiana Highway Patrol car that had Budd disc brakes. Good disc brakes, but complicated. Not common either now. White Post in Virginia can resleeve your calipers if you have no joy of finding any used ones. AAJ or Wildwood might offer kits to convert your set up to a...

Probably about to open a bag of worms but.....who finds my avatar offensive?

Nothing about your avatar I find offensive; in fact, I gave it a thumbs up. I like Clint Eastwood movies, especially the Dirty Harry ones.

Great. Just what we need, another Graveyard Cars shop owner who thinks he's funny. :p Congratulations on the recognition. What is your specialty?

    Iola car show 2023

Thanks for the photos. I didn't go to Iola this year as I was also going to the National De Soto Convention in Chatham-Kent, Ontario, and I couldn't afford to pay for both. One car owner brought over his 1959 De Soto Fireflite to the Canadian show that I remembered seeing at Iola in 2019. It's a...

Walter P Chrysler Annual Convention & Show Aug 5, 2023

There are a few pictures posted on the WPC Club Facebook group of the car show on Saturday just past, but it didn't look like a huge turn out. 100-150 cars tops of all years i would guess. Our NDC Convention which was held the Saturday before (29 Jul 23) in Chatham-Kent Ontario had about the...

Actually, the cop car that Richard Dreyfus chained the rear axle to a post so that it would rip out it's third member was a 1961 Ford, (fullsize) if I'm not mistaken. That would make it a newer car than the 1958 Chevy Impala that Opie was driving around.

Where were you, In the summer of '73? American Graffiti turns 50 years old.

Well, lets see. In 1973 I was 22 years old and was getting out of the Regular Army and transferring into the Reserve to complete my 6 year obligation. I was waiting to go into a vocational school to learn how to become a mechanic under the Vietnam era GI Bill. I was driving a nearly new dark...

What are these bolted to my firewall?

The rusted box appears to be the bypass relay for your seat belt interlock system. This was a Federally Mandated requirement on all cars starting with the 1974 model year to encourage seat belt use. It was not a popular move with the public at the time. The outcry against it was so great that...

Re-doing my drum brake system. What is the best choice for brake fluid nowadays?

If you're worried about moisture getting in your brake system because you don't use the car much, I'd go with DOT 5 silicon based fluid. I've used it on my Army Dodge W200 power wagon for years with no issues. You would have to flush the lines and replace all of your rubber components (flex...
