What a PITA but I'll find another set of Saginaw brackets. The days of rummaging through the boneyards is pretty much over unless you live in the vacinity of one of the MOPAR specialty yards posted around the web. Ha..not me unfortunately!
Go figure. ..unbelievable and not surprising since I had nothing to start with. Well, it sounds like the double WP pulley OR like Kerndog is describing...find another set of brackets! Geeeez
I appreciate all the input. I suppose it's back to the drawing board!
Ok...let me backup and take a pic for the complete view. I really can't rule out a truck or AC bracket setup. When I bought them for the pump it didn't say what they were from. I just needed something to line up. I never considered the belt interference with the WP pulley. And yes.....the crank...
Curious....I did not even think of that. I could probably make that double pulley on the water pump work too! I'll check for one of those and see if I have any luck finding one.
Thanks everyone. Maybe this might just work!
66Sat....yep I recognize that option. Just like modern day and I'm guessing switch to full serpentine drive package?
Pnora ...I suspect that possibly because I'm using an aftermarket water pump housing with driverside intake, that might have made the bracket mounting bolts in the wrong place...
Just a quick back story first. My Bee did not have an engine when I bought it 20 or more years ago. I had a 440 block and crank to start with in my shed. I had to completely build from a grocery list all the way down to nuts and bolts. I had a PS pump in a box of parts but even after buying...
I also have used BCCC on K frame but that's because that's what I had on the shelf. I didn't want to go buy any single stage black when other options was already available. It looks great.
Yep....just a 2 car garage. The trick to getting the engine in from the bottom was to sit the K frame with the engine on it, on a 4 wheel appliance dolly. HF for 20.00. Bolt the trans on and support it with another dolly. To lift the car, I used my cherry picker and lifted the car with eye...
I'd be happy to talk about your project and what your end goal is and what should/needs to be done. For example, I didn't do it this way but some guys will acid dip their car and then prep the surface for a complete poly primer spray to seal the car. Rust won't be a problem and you can then work...
I think it's an option some of us don't have. I might have bought aftermarket IF my bumpers were offered. Nobody makes repops that I could find for a 70 Bee, so TriCity did mine. Beautiful work!!! 1400 for both fronts and rears. Bare in mind, some of that charge is projected labor for...
I want to thank all my answer providers here today. I did get my orientation right with regards to the install position AND did drop it off at a local driveshaft shop for balance check. No problem with my yolk and u joints installed. (They may be removing and reinstalling during the...
Eldubb440, I see you also have the balance ring (if that's what it is) located up by the trans. Since mine doesn't have that, I'm working the premise that the largest end of the DS does connect at the trans. My DS narrows at one end more than the other, so it goes back by the diff. I wonder when...
