    A727 Rebuild

I'll put a B&M shift kit in it, but the rest would be stock rebuild.

    Sad day for the Roadrunner…

You do quick work, you're making me look bad! I'm glad you decided to keep it and rebuild. Hope you're on the road soon.

How do you properly grind welds in sheet metal? What type of discs or tools to use?

I've tried grinding the welds but have had far better and quicker results using resin fiber discs. I knock the welds down with 36 grit and then follow up with 120 grit. If I want it to look real pretty, I follow up with 220 then 400 grit. I use the discs from Benchmark Abrasives. They are thick...

Recommendations for Sheet Metal Bending Brake

I'm looking for a good sheet metal brake that won't break the bank. At the moment I need to make the top piece of the outer rocker panel where the sill plate is attached and am using 18ga sheet metal. Mine is all torn apart right now, but I already have all new harnesses for when I put the car back together. I will take Paul73's advice and put a battery kill switch on...

Molasses as a rust remover is awesome

They offer a 5 gallon pail for $14, but want $114 to ship it to me. I think I'll stick with vinegar.

Well son of a gun. AMD told me in November that they had no plans at that time to supply that piece. Merry Christmas!

Molasses as a rust remover is awesome

I have had success using a 2:1 ratio with a cup of salt for each gallon of vinegar. Of course it depends on what you are de-rusting. This has worked well on sheet metal, frame rails, brake drums etc. As hdwrench mentioned, it can be corrosive so you need to experiment. I will give the molasses...

Do you all really prefer molasses to a vinegar and salt solution?
