I have a 67 coronet, 318 with a 8 3/4 rear. What would I need to make my 400 fit in it? Are the motor mounts different? Tranny cross member? (For a 727 trans), driveshaft? Maybe I would be better off selling the 400 and getting a 340? Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'll have to take a closer look at it, I would assume it has the stock valve.

I was looking at my rear axle and I think it is a 8 1/4 but I would like someone to confirm for me. From what I have read the 7 1/4 has a nine bolt cover and 8 1/4 has ten Correct me if in wrong! Heres a pick of my axle (sideways)

Yes i have all the hardware for it but just looking around the net I saw alot of manual valve body talk. Nothing was very clear.

I was cleaning out the trunk of my car today (crammed full of extra parts) and found a hurst promatic 2 shifter. Can I use this on a stock tranny or do I need to have a manual valve body? Thanks

Yes i was talking about the boots not the zerks. I was thinking of changing them just because the engine is out of it and it would be easy.

Yeah I think I'll take it to the tech school near me (after I get the engine in it) and have them pull on it. They will do it for free. As far as rust goes it's a Nevada car, there's only one rust spot on it and it happens to be on the opposite quarter.

I was thinking I might try to have it pulled on a frame machine and go from there. Not sure how well it will work tho.

Are the grease boots on the steering replaceable. And if so how? Or do you just leave it alone unless they are damaged?
