I think every flat tappet cam manufacturer uses about the same break-in lube, some kind of moly based grease. I do agree that using the cam manufacture's version is a good idea though. As for assembly lubes, I make up my own concoction of 50% ATF, 25% STP, and 25% Lubriplate. Has worked for...
I'm seriously considering building a Daytona clone using the Vega rear window and Dayclona parts. Does anyone have any dimensions on where the rear glass sits, the trunk opening begins, etc., etc?
My local Dupont dealer can mix up acrylic enamel in rattle cans to match the factory paint codes. I've done touchup on base coat/clear coat with reasonably good success.
X3, if the main spun enough, it's 'clearanced' the block such that a new insert won't have enough 'crush' to hold it in place. Chances are it will probably spin also.
