Reference point, 440-6 with stealth heads, Lunati 60303, SRP 10.5 pistons, SCAT H rods, stock int/exh manifolds, 10.2 CR, 727, 3.23 suregrip: NGK BPR5E works well with this setup.
4 lane freeway, late at night, light traffic, one moron right behind me, apparently infatuated with the tailgate on my truck.
Common occurrence on SOCAL freeways: bizzie 4 lanes at speed, always a couple have-to-pass-everyone jumping in/out of traffic. Favorite pastime, spot them coming up...
Bought 70 Sport Satellite driver for daughter many many moons ago. She drove it several years to Disneyland job. Learned a lot keeping it running, great first entry into vintage mopars. As others have said, a restoration of this era is big bucks and the Satellite will come up short on ROI...
Some steel tube scrap, mig welder, and HD casters:
With test stand "insert" for engine break-in:
Install (with assistance from Kubota forklift attachment), rolled the dolly in, then with 2 post lift (69 Charger RT):
DIY is a fun project. I've done several, the latest an A/C - heater box for daughter's 69 Charger. The rebuild kits are pretty complete. We managed to locate an NOS heater core. One suggestion, whether you do it or not, mock it up before you install to check function.
Amen. We tolerate the taxes, high gas prices because we love our quiet little 5 acres in the hills of N. San Diego county, interrupted only by the sounds of freedom from Pendleton. As to Newscum and his merry band of socialist legislators, they can FOAD.
When I did my 70RR resto about 15yrs ago, did the front disc conversion, with new calipers, brake lines, wheel cylinders, and NOS master cylinder, rebuilt OE T - metering - prop valves, filled with DOT5. Solid pedal and stopping performance since. As noted system must be new or rigorously...
^Thx Bob. Pretty sure the AC shop was looking for the GM CCOT, cycling compressor. The Charger AC is working great, so I'll assume the EPR/TXV handshake is working properly.
To his defense, really nice guy, some grey hair like me, but mostly older GM experience. Had a custom 57 Impala in the bay when I arrived. Was fine with using R12. Hard to find an AC shop around here with RV2 experience. Anyway, I didn't know enough about the RV2-EPR design at the time to...
Followup to earlier post about A/C wiring on 69 Charger. Installed the correct 3 wire A/C switch, had the OE system evacuated and charged with R12. Working great, however, AC guy was worried the compressor wasn't cycling, could lead to evaporator freezing. AC guys, doesn't the RV2 clutch...
Appreciate the replies. Ray, I had the exact same confusion as you looking at the schematics. In my daughter's RT there is the black/white tracer wire running from the fuse box to a female connector on the A/C harness. There is also a black/white tracer wire with a male connector farther down...
Working on daughters 69RT with factory air, getting it ready to be charged/serviced. Started wiring up the A/C controls and noticed there were 2 fan switches in the parts box, one with 3 wire harness and one with 4 incl a separate connector. OK, so check out the FSM schematics and the...
Check the coil, simple resistance measurements. Then take a look at the fuel pump pushrod. Some aftermarket rods wear quickly. Daughter's 69 Charger had one, no sputtering, just died in the middle of the freeway.
Brings back memories. Back in the 90s when I was doing regular boneyard trips, 70 Satellite station wagons were somewhat common and several had N code engines. One had a never been used original Goodyear G78-15 double white stripe spare (still had the sticker). Lotsa good parts off those...
