Says it's for a 440. You would need to turn down the mains & possibly clearance the block. You do need to know what rods it's been ground for, mopar or chevy. It's a nice crank for the money, imo. Thought about it myself but I've got one cut & balanced for my 451 already.
A friend just went thru this. Same b.s. ended up with some 2" tall holddowns. Very narrow & allen head. Also they were black. Didn't look too bad actually. Might actually be used with studs. I'll do a little searching to see if I can recognize them.

Looked like these, only...
I'm not sure I'd tear the motor down yet either. Couple things while I was under there. Try to find a number under one of the pistons to determine what they are & if it really should have been balanced. Look at the counterweights on the crank & see if it looks like any recent drilling or welding...
Cracked flexplate possibly. They like to crack around the bolts. Tough to see sometimes while still installed. Just another thought.
Another thought is they could have put pistons in that are too far from the factory external balance "bobweight".
Have a rebuilt 4:30 pig. Was professionally rebuilt several years ago. Been bagged & boxed up. Got with a bunch parts from a buddy awhile back. Would have to drag it out to see which case it is. PM me if you're even interested due to the gears.
I been thinking about running one on my current 451 build. Have you used this one? How do you seal the scraper, tray & pan? Or is this meant to be run without a windage tray.
Thanks,
Jason
