I’m far from a wing car guru, but I would expect to see an orange pie tin on a Daytona. My earlier post was a response to the “68 cars got red, 69 cars got orange” comment, which is generally true but not an ironclad fact by any stretch of the imagination.

I have a very similarly constructed hood from AAR, and it sank in the middle. I recommend taking a few minutes and glassing a brace running fender to fender, right in front of the scoop. I think that would help prevent problems down the road.

I’ve had zero luck with the standard repop seals, but 100% success with DMT (Detroit Muscle Technologies) seals. If the leak persists, I suggest ordering a seal from them.

Coincidentally, I just received a large order of SPI epoxy and white SS paint. I’m going to try it out and see how it compares to PPG DP.
