yeah, there was carpet there before but it was all dry rotted and from all indications it was the original carpet. I bought the matching carpet over a year ago but it sat in the box in my basement while I procrastinated. I thought pulling the seat out was going to be a nightmare but as most...
The third row floor is deep, it's not used for a spare tire, the spare tire is off to the right side rear glass inside the plastic side panel. So what you see in the picture is a deep well that I had to mold the carpet into. it was not too bad but there are creases in the carpet but they are...
Where'd you get the carpet? My 73 Coronet wagon doesn't have it back there.
I got it from stock interiors. I bought the padding but did't use it. I just used double sided carpet tape from Home Depot (Not the expensive 3M double sided tape). Shipping was a bit pricy at $28. But they were...
no plans yet for the engine because the car is so original. but it is defiantly not the original engine so if I ever hit the lottery, a HEMI swap is definitely on the table! :hello2:

You are absolutely right! we can't drive with the rear glass down. Unfortunately, at the time we made the decision we were more into the "cool factor" :)
It's not a big deal for us right now as we only use the wagon for cruise ins, car shows and the occasional Home Depot tun to bring home...
I was surprised too. But I think they put it only in the Regent. I have seen the regular dash in the custom.
I wish i could get the clock to work.

Thanks!
yeah, it's a cool dash for sure! lucky for me it's unmolested and I was able to open it up far enough to get all the bulbs replaced. The only thing non-functional is the clock. it's a big hassle to get it out so I just left it.
the trailer hitch mounted to the under side of the bumper and third row floor pan. I took it out.
The gas tank is behind the rear left wheel well but I don't know how the 66/67 style was. the spare tire is on the opposite side and has all the gear so we cleaned it up and put it back...
Yeah, she was the high end model back in the day. I have the window sticker and invoice and it shows just over $5k. That's a pretty penny for 1972.
Factory air but they opted to stick with the base AM radio. Lucky for me no one molested the rallye dash to upgrade the radio in the last 42...
She has a nice rumble now too...

You know, given the price of new cars these days, you can find yourself a decent wagon and redo it for probably half the cost of a new one.
This thing has so much character, we get thumbs up and...
Funny you say that! I have only seen a couple of episodes but never the car. But I have been told that I need to watch that show...

Interior --- As far as I know, it's all original! 2 small rips and some fading but no other issues.

Coming along nicely! We got it mechanically sound early last year but now the slow and tedious process of finding body parts. We have travelled a lot looking for parts and now finally we got it to the point where it has a new front bumper and we replaced the front right fender with one that is...
sorry for the late follow up on this one... it was the starter!!! I opted for the high torque model from the 2 they had available at Auto Zone and it's been great ever since. Cranks smooth and ultra fast every time and have not had a slow crank in months.
Was it a busted seal or did the leak stop once you put everything back in? I'm also having one heck of a time getting the steering column to drop enough to get the cluster out.
