If its a Pat Blais valve body its well worth its price as he's well known here in the pacific Northwest.

Its supposed to have 10.5 compression

About 20 years ago I ran 12.16 @109 with a 284 484 purple shaft cam and with the car not running very good.

More like 9.5 -10.5

Interesting find. I read where the pistons i have are about .090 in the hole. I was wanting to go with a solid cam around a 590 lift. Don't know if that cam would work or if it would contact the valves.

I'll give it a shot, i also read where I can shoot brake cleaner on a rag and set the sensor in the rag and power it up to see if it goes rich.

They say the autometer afr gauge is self calibrated.

If you had to get a new afr gauge, which one would you go with and why? Autometer, Ame, or innovate afr?

Yeah, thinking it might be a bad gauge.

I've had the Autometer 3379 afr gauge for about 6 years. And about 3 months ago it would do its countdown like normal and then it would stay at 14.7 at idle, cruise and at wot. I've changed the o2 sensor still does the same thing. All the wiring is good.

What's everyone's opinion on a Innovate afr gauge vs. Autometer? Does the Innovate afr gauge require annual calibration? How accurate are they?

Well I can't tell what my afr gauge is actually reading since its stuck at 14.7. It does its normal countdown then stays right at 14.7. I replaced the o2 sensor but it doesn't change. Then I was told to hook the brown wire to key on power. And still no change.

Well what i was told, the old purple shaft cams were not accurate on their duration. The 284 cam was closer to 238 duration.
