Are you a 0-60 guy or a top speed guy?

On streets, I drive under 10 over. On the track, triple digits are the norm. Don’t do burnouts, prefer to stick and go.

HOW COME you have to be so close to me?

In the 80’s I laughed at a “too close to me”. Read it all before passing judgement. In KC, Mo downtown. All corners are hard rights. Two west bound lanes. Semi driver prepares to take a right but shifts maybe two feet in the left lane. I am behind and I get it. Light changes and truck...

You can tell you have too much sh*t when...

When you find five Carter carbs, complete suspension for b-body, 3 boxes of brake pads for a body disk brakes, 5 sets of points condenser, 3 distributors. And I just cleaned one corner of the garage.

Firm Feel Suspension + Wilwood 6 Piston Disc Brake Project

I was never happy with KYB non adjustable. On the road track, they failed to be consistent after 20 or so laps.

Firm Feel Suspension + Wilwood 6 Piston Disc Brake Project

To anyone who is considering autocross, KernDog advised me as I was setting up my QA1 style suspension. Roaded over 1000 miles this summer participating in events. Car was always stable with a stiff ride, not rough, with double adjustable shocks. Turned down to 3 on the road (compression)...

What stupid things have YOU said to NON Mopar owners?

Can’t say it was stupid to say but… 1987, Acura owner came in store for parts. Can’t remember what he was looking for, been too long. “Can’t find it in Acura catalog but I do have the Honda equivalent in stock.” “It’s NOT a Honda!!!” fumed the customer. “Under the pretty bonnet they have the...

    Engine stalls intermittently…ignition switch?

First of all, there may be brighter gents out there but here is my penny for your thoughts. Try raising the idle speed 200 rpm to see if it fixes the stall. A modern ignition needs 12 volts. If the alternator output drops below the required ignition input, the car stalls. Simple draws such...

Any old timers recognize this tool?

Found this out the real hard way in 2009. Replaced a leaking seal on a 351C. (I know, it’s not a mopar.). Replaced the original seal when refreshing the engine and doing a clutch upgrade. At first good but oil leakage went to 2 quarts per thousand miles in short order. When I dropped the...

Vapor-Locking... the bane of my existence.

On multiple cars, I have used an 80’s dodge fuel filter that has a 1/4” port return off the pressure side of the pump. The 1/4” line was plumbed back to the tank. Then used phenolic spacer at the carb. Never have had issues with vapor lock with these two fixes in place.

    Compression Test Results

Another trick that does not require air to remove spring, use clothesline. Feed through the spark plug hole. Leave lead outside hole. Bring piston up. Will hold valves closed and allow you to change seal.

What's with women that runs the gas tank down to the last drop!???

Wife always tags me when she knows it is low. “Need a little milk from the market, just take my car.” 20 minutes and $40 later, she has her gallon of milk.
