most of these mopar guys,first thing they do is rip the 383 out out of their cars and spend a fortune building a 440. you should be able to pick and choose a good 383 forged crank base motor for dirt cheap. try posting a Wanted Ad here in the forum.

id guess a spun bearing. have you checked the Valvetrain for that cylinder? rockers all good? make sure nothings worn out or bent/pushrod? if the rest checks out,its probably a rod bearing. you can also do the old broomstick test. grab one of those cheap dollar store plungers rip the plunger...
