FBBO cumulative years of Mopar knowledge, experience, passion - Post up your time

I learned to drive at age 9 in a '48 Dodge. Even before that , I was surrounded by my Dad, (mopar guy) uncles and cousins that were all into cars. A few brand X but mostly Mopar. Never was a time I can remember when I wasn't into Mopars and considered them superior to all others. So, give me...

Tell me this car dont look bad ***

Has potential. Back in the day there was a Runner at Thunder Valley I used to race against that had the wing on the back. One of the "Orange Peeler" cars I think, but I'd have to get the old photo album out to be sure. Always liked the big Plymouth decals. Had one on one of my '63's. Gave...

    DODGE or PLYMOUTH

I voted Plymouth,, but here's my warped thinking. It was Dodge up to the 60's, then Plymouth through the 70's. Back to Dodge after 80 and still stuck on those. The 69 B bodies in both makes are killer, but I've had a '63 Plymouth (not the same one) since I was 16. About the only thing that...

    Hey beer drinkers!

Make mine a Grain Belt Premium. Made nearby in New Ulm MN. Has the great taste of the "old" beers, not that watered down light beer taste.

    Convertible top

Classic Industries shows them in their Mopar catalog. Haven't used them, so can't give any experience.

    What oil ?

That's true on the diesel oils up till recently. Alot of those have been dropping in the zinc level as well, and from what I've read, the EPA has been pushing lower levels in those oils also. I'm just sayin, to keep an eye on it.

    Your favorite 62-65 B-body ?

I've had many Mopars through the years, but somehow I've always had a 63. This one has stuck with me for 35 years, so I guess the '63 Sport Fury has to be my favorite.

    Painted top ?

It was originally a vinyl top car. The painted top was just an idea instead of getting a top put on again. None of the body shops around here seem to want to mess with a vinyl top replacement. The painted top does look nice on the GTX.

My new purchase 63 Polara 500 383 convertible! what ya think?

My Plymouth was the bronze color when I got it. It was OK,, but I like 'em a bit brighter.

    Painted top ?

Thanks guys. Still up in the air. This is a 70 Charger, white, going to have a black stripe, has black interior. Black top is tempting, but not sure about going back to a vinyl top. Still, not sure about a black painted top either. Gotta decide pretty soon. It's getting close.

    Painted top ?

I did see that one go thru. I was thinking it didn't happen anymore by then but that got me wondering. We had them alot in the early, to mid 60's with painted tops. I think we'll stick with mono tone paint.
