Could have been there from the start. I never really looked at them this closely.
Yes they can be repaired. I finally found someone who has seen this. He has welded a couple and they eventually cracked in the same spot. Probably more costly to repair than buy new ones.
Everything started clicking for me this year. Won some races. Got the car into the 9.30's. Decided I needed a little more power to complete in 9.50 class during summer months. Was going to send the heads and intake out for hand porting.
Got the heads off yesterday and found this.

This past weekend went out to Rockingham Dragway for the last Modern Street HEMI Shootout race of the year with Mopars at the Rock.
In the good air, (+500 DA) made my best pass to date . 9.38@ almost 142. That was Friday at track rental. Saturday was bracket race and qualifying for 9.50 index...
Very efficient motor. I pulled 8 degrees of timing to try to keep it at 9.50 for index class.
I now have 17° total timing and it still ran 9.45...
Pretty happy with this setup...
