The test was done just at idle so approx 800rpm. I will do another test at various rpms and see what I get.
Also I probed at the battery for this test. I was curious as to if this would effect the readings. For a more accurate reading should I go directly off alternator stud ? Should the...
Trying to test my alternator with an oscilloscope. Posted a picture of my reading. I'm still learning to use this thing . So bare with me
Does this test show an AC ripple of 55mv PKP? Is that acceptable?
I also tested with a simple multimeter first. Set to AC I got a reading of .1v
I feel that anyone that owns an B body or other Mopar, has been down this road. The aftermarket 100% will never really read accurate to the gauge ( even if calibrated ).... at least not the "sweep" of the gauge . As shown in the previous post, the OEM is not a straight linear resistance path...
To be honest you can make your head spin with all the steps involved in body / paint work. I've been doing it for 20 years now. There is a very big difference from restoration or a basic collision job. The biggest part is right off the start. As soon as you open up that bare metal you really...
If I'm cruising at say 65km (40mph) and I just roll into it. I'm not going to WOT , let say an
gradually increase to approx 50% . This is where I can see the lean spot.
I think @BSB67 is probably going in the right direction. Depending on the day my cruise vacuum will be around 17". When I...
Thats great!
I'm currently playing with mine again , after switching over to the proform main body (67101c ) I noticed I was getting a bit of light throttle / tip in problems. When I pulled the heads and did some port work this past winter the problem was even more pronounced this summer.
I...
Well update and solution.
I went and added a collar to the bottom of the distributor gear.
Put everything back together and fired it up. Set timing back to 18* , gave it some throttle exact same thing !
Disconnected my Innova timing light and hooked up old school timing light. And...
Sad , very sad.
"Disconnected inaccurate ramblings "
it's amazing how often you describe your own actions.
Same old respones, same ramblings, it's hard to watch people deteriorate.
Here let me help you with your next response " maybe it's because YOU just don't understand "
Have to point out this distributor has been in the car for about 14 years. I have graphed timing curves with it . To the best of my memory I have never removed the weights , only changes the springs and adjusted the max mechanical advance
I'm using a Innova timing light it's does allow me to...
All good had the distributor out and apart just make sure good, lubed up weights just for good measure . It's the mallory style MP distributor with the adjustable totally advance slots
I did see another post on a similar problem to mine.
Checking my timing, base set 18. When I increase the rpm , the timing will initially retard instead of advance. As I keep increasing rpm the timing will eventually shoot back it normal advance curve and continue to advance.
The other...
Sure hope it's not worn out. I doubt this motor even has 8000k on it .
Going to pull the distributor again make sure I didn't miss anything.
I have a spare ecu I could throw in there too incase it some odd ecu malfunction
