    Next issue with fuse blowing

I'd remove the bulbs from the console and dome light... then put in a fuse. if it doesnt blow, put in one light at a time. on the 69's they have the "so called" 5 sided "star" connector behind the left kick panel. It is really rectangular and two rows of three and they only use 5 of the 6...

    WARNING: DRIVING ON OLD TIRES

"Date code is when they are manufactured, not when went into service. If a tire is stored in a climate controlled building, and out of UV rays," might be true for you, you are in Ontario. Down here in Phoenix AZ, I wouldn't bet on it. it will get up to 160 in some warehouse.

Ticking Noise in a 1970 Roadrunner?

OH, one other thing. replace your PCV valve. If they are stopped and allow oil into the combustion chamber, this will LOWER the octane of the fuel and you will get detonation. I had that happen also.

Ticking Noise in a 1970 Roadrunner?

could be a LOT of things. all of the mentioned above, a bad lifter, a bad rocker arm. years ago I had a 383-4v Charger. tick tick tick noise. I removed all fan belts, ONE AT a time. Listened to each component with a stethoscope, Listend to the Power steering pump, the alternator, the...

1968 DODGE CHARGER R/T BARN FIND!

It will cost you about 50K to complete the job and that is if you are doing most of the work yourself. I did mine that way back in 1994. You are better off buying "the most car you can afford" and you will come out ahead in the end. to go from a "class 3 car to a class 2 car" is very spendy...

    2 - quads vs sixpack on '67 440 hp

if you are driving it on the street, I'd stick with a single four barrel. 3 deuces would be better then the dual quad unless you got a big tunnel ram. I had a 440/500 cube stroker motor built that had edlelbrock heads, intake, single 800 thunder series edelbrock (basically a new carter AVS)...

Which sure grip unit to buy?

you should have a shop in your town that rebuilds rear ends. Out here in AZ, I can go to AZ differential and get an 8-3/4 rebuilt for 600 bucks and get it back in 2 days.

68-70 Charger owners. Do you use your original jack?

like above, I used it a couple of times in the late 70's. Later I bought a nice hydraulic floor jack from JC Penney (a 1-1/2 ton 90 pounds of steel... what today they call 3 tons) and never looked back. You have to be EXTREMELY careful and be on level ground, not on soft earth, etc when...

    WARNING: DRIVING ON OLD TIRES

here in Phoenix, when you buy tires, I INSIST on seeing the DATE on them before they are installed. Otherwise, they dig stuff out of their warehouse that has been in there two years. You drive for 3 years, and then they won't service your tires because they are "five years old" Be advised.

How hard is it to change the crank seals on a 383

yes, and the front one you just remove the alternator, power steering, A/C compressor, and any smog pump, the harmonic balancer, then the water pump housing. (STrip the front off the motor basically) then you remove the timing chain cover and pop the old seal out, clean it real well, put some...
