they work great but neither have this problem where all of the lights dim and flicker at idle.
maybe with the headlights running direct off the battery the others will come to life.
67 coronet wagon 318 just replaced the alt with the modern 62 amp powermaster one that requires grounding one of the leads which i did.i grounded it to the intake though.
all of my lights are dim and flicker slightly untill i rev it a bit higher.
i replaced the alt with a high amp one i put a new voltage regulator on and sanded the body where it sits for better ground,ran a heavy hot wire from the alt hot to the hot on the starter relay to help reduce the load...
i just painted it and was going to put the gasket on the pump with some spray gasket to hold it in place.the gasket fits around 8 holes but there are 2 other holes in this pump.

it has ribs that seem to hold up sections but some of them are failing too.
it seems like the liner is particle board or something similar.
its stiff and i dont think i can get it to go back into shape.

we put a new alternator on the 318 in my 67 coronet wagon.i loosened the lower bolt that holds the adjuster bracket for the alt adjustment.
it started dripping coolant and when i tightened it back up it still drips.i removed the 4.5 in 3/8 bolt and coolant came pouring out the hole.
