The Dynomax advise above is spot-on. The longer the muffler, the quieter. Here are some sound clips:

If you are satisfied with the way your car sounds, just leave it. At your power level and intended purpose, you will gain little to nothing with a bigger exhaust. A 2" dual system will support around 300hp. Even if your engine dyno's at more than that, you're not using that HP just cruising...
To your point about Super Turbo's being restrictive, if you go to here- https://www.classicmusclecarexhaust.com/exhaust-101 and scroll down to the Dynomax section, there's a link to their "Power Tech Index". It's a chart that gives the CFM ratings of each of their mufflers and exactly how much...
Sounds like you might be better off with a turbo muffler. Both Dynomax and Pypes make a very nice turbo muffler. Here are some sound clips-

Which Flowmasters do you have? WW2 was quieter than FM 40's. Super 50's are fairly quiet, and they still have the FM tone. I have 20" Super Turbo's on a 406 Chevelle, and they are very quiet. They will let you know if your weather-stripping needs to be replaced.
As correctly stated above, you can't really go wrong with Dynomax Super Turbo's. There are some sound clips of them here- https://www.classicmusclecarexhaust.com/general-motors/a-body/2-5-Dynomax-Super-Turbo-Mufflers-p231638939
Do you have offset or center outlet?
There are some sound clip videos of the Dynomax Super Turbo's here- https://www.classicmusclecarexhaust.com/general-motors/a-body/2-5-Dynomax-Super-Turbo-Mufflers-p231638939
Keep in mind that these videos are for 2.5". 2 1/4" will be somewhat quieter than 2.5".
I'm going to preface this post by saying that when it comes to exhaust sound and tone, there are no absolutes. There are too many variables which contribute to exhaust sound db level, drone, or tone. I tell customers that want their car to sound like "that car over there" that if two cars had...
Do you have a Big Block or a Small Block? If you have a BB, you'll need 440HP manifolds and the not regular manifolds in order for MagnaFlow's downtubes to fit. Their BB downtube # is 19304. Their SB downtube is # 19343. Both are designed to hook up to their #19303 kit. What exactly did they say...
Both TTI and Accurate are top notch exhaust systems, as is Gardner. They tend to be higher priced but you do get what you pay for. Flowmaster makes a stainless system with an H-Pipe, but it comes with Super44 mufflers which are loud. It goes for $730. MagnaFlow has a very nice X-Pipe system...
Snook, you'll probably be satisfied with the longest Dynomax Super Turbo that fits your car. If you need offset/offset, #17749 is 20" long and will do a fantastic job quieting things down. If you need offset/center, #17733 is the longest they make- at 14" long it will be a bit louder. I just had...
Pypes and MagnaFlow both make 2.5" X-Pipe systems for B-Bodies, Flowmaster makes an H-Pipe system. MagnaFlow makes 2.5" downtubes for the 440HP manifolds which will connect to any of those systems. Pypes allows you to buy their system without mufflers so you can use whatever you'd like. All...
