I doubt very much we are talking about the same thing. This pic is from a convertible Cuda rocker. If your car has this, it's the most rare hardtop ever... :) it was in convertibles only for lack of the support given by having a roof etc.

I'd say it's bent. The metal is wrinkled. I can't imagine a factory part being bent intentionally right at the same location as the holes. if it was supposed to be that shape, it would have been stamped that way. Of course someone will come along and show a NOS part that has the bend...

That's actually a really good point. At lot of the people who are going to watch those are the ones that don't know what to look for or how to spot crap parts.
