I use the same in a built 440. Keith Black internals and 12:1 compression. PO told me that is what he used so I am sticking with it.

It did not need new connectors. A wire actually melted in the harness. Couldn't see it due to the wrap. All better now! Thanks for the help!

Issue Update.... We are having a problem with one of the field wires from the alternator. We are now on our 3rd alternator. This car has a non original upgraded ignition box. One of the field wires that is responsible for charging the battery keeps shorting out on us! This is a 2 field...

Turns out there was a short on one of the field wires at the alternator. New alternator in and under dash wiring fixed up and the car will now start. We are not getting a charge to the battery though at this time. Anyone else think I have a bad voltage regulator?

This seem to be the exact issue I am having. It is in the hands of a pro now. Should be done this week. Do you know what he did to fix it?

i just saw a wiring diagram -- can't believe they run all that power through the gauge!

Gonna check out the gauge when I get back home. That wouldn't cause the whole ignition system to not get spark though would it?
