REVISITING .finally! I've narrowed the problem down. shaking the car up and down produced no aromas, there is no aroma of raw fuel once youre into the secondaries. there seems to be a just-off-idle bog (13-1500 rpm) . SO: A: low the fuel pump down to maybe 4.0 psi instead of the 5 it's at? B...

A good primer on the heating system there. And on patience :)

I'm about to start tracking down under dash parts -all the way from the vacuum control box to vents hoses in my 1968 satellite. The whole heat/ac system was ripped out years ago. By an idiot! :) will be watching this thread and others like it - best of luck!

Greetings! 1968 four door plym satellite. Did the car originally come with a vented gas cap? Has non vent on now. Sure could use a few ideas on where to start the checklist of probably causes. not seeing gas anywhere - not running way rich...notice mostly after speed changes (slosh?). Thanks...

Dam! You guys too? Have a 68 4 door satellite- this happens almost exclusively after medium/strong acceleration...foot off gas or lightly on.....just wait 2 or three seconds and the raw fuel smell fills the cabin. Like above, no smells under hood. So maybe it's fuel sloshing? a poor seal...

It's on all prongs so its intentional. H5001 & h5006 respectively. Just noticed the new prongs are a half inch longer. A stopper of some kind. Black tape here we come :)

Another rocking Saturday night in the dark :) Has anyone else had this condition? I dont know if its these tiny little nubs on the prongs holding them up but....

That's interesting. As a 4 door automatic, the 68 sat is at the bottom of the collectible range. Building it wont hurt the value. Besides - fun is fun!

WOW. Just wow. I know things aren't as cheap as they used to be...but 4-5 grand for manual kit? And the car still has to be cannibalized? :) Even a donor Chrysler 4 speed is no small feat to install. Lesson learned. Not saying thats it's absolutely not "worth it". But wow. Anyone else remember...
