    Roller rocker bar type?

Thank you all so much for your info, opinions, and advise. I really appreciate it more than I can say. I was totally planning on another set of needle bearings rockers - but after all of your input and information - I will definitely change to bushed. Most people on "youtube" are into modern LS...

    Roller rocker bar type?

I was thinking of changing to a 1.6 roller rocker - Currently running 1.5 PRW roller rockers and bars with needle bearings for the bar. During my research today I read what someone wrote at youtube saying that you "cannot run needle bearings on a chrome moly rocker bar!" Is that true? I don't...

measuring piston to deck clearance on 440 source dished piston

I don't really know why he checks the deck that way. I'm sure you're right - he doesn't have that tool. I'm gambling that the deck can/is close enough to work for this mild build. And Yeah, I check everything he does when I get it back. Unfortunately, I'm just not that smart. Sometimes I'm at...

measuring piston to deck clearance on 440 source dished piston

Thanks bro, I really appreciate you and everyone else for all of your help. My guy doesn't like to measure deck height from crank hole. He likes the 4 corner pistons on the crank and in the block. He's really "old-school" like you said, and that's just how he does things. I know it's a gamble at...

measuring piston to deck clearance on 440 source dished piston

I'm hoping it goes well for you sir. Even with all of the great guys here to help me along, there's just so much to consider. I just got a kit from 440 source that arrived just today. But my machinist has had the block for 2 weeks. I've never done a kit like this before and it was very confusing...

"440 source" (stroker kits) for a mid 1970's 440 motor. Cylinder material removal for rod clearance.

Excellent point. It would be at least 3 hours round trip for the other machinist who turned/fixed that crank for me, and it was PERFECT when I got it back. I've done a few motors with this same guy up here. Maybe 4-5 and only had those two problems on two different motors. LOL I mean yeah, they...

"440 source" (stroker kits) for a mid 1970's 440 motor. Cylinder material removal for rod clearance.

Oh man, that's hardly nothing. I was expecting much more material to be removed. I mean, I understand that every block is different and it also depends on how long the stroke is. But yeah, it sounds like the 512 kit will be minimal grinding if any. Thank you very much. I really appreciate you...

"440 source" (stroker kits) for a mid 1970's 440 motor. Cylinder material removal for rod clearance.

Thanks sir. The machinist will only grind/remove the material for me if I pay him an extra $2500 to assemble the motor too. He does good work - but I gotta keep an eye on what he does. He once scratched/gouged up the new cam bearing he installed and said it would be ok anyway. I knocked em all...

"440 source" (stroker kits) for a mid 1970's 440 motor. Cylinder material removal for rod clearance.

I want to know the best/efficient way to remove material from the cylinders. Do it before or after the machine boring process? Can I cut them all the same depth after I do the first one? I'm getting confusing info from 440 source and my machinist's front office. "440 source" says that after the...

    383 Stroker Kit to 496

It's very confusing. I'm currently preparing a motor home 440 for my very first stroker kit. it's 440 source Part #440>>512. I spoke with a 440 source rep 2 days ago and he says/told me that the oil pick up area will need to be grinded down and some 440 blocks need nothing done to the cylinders...

Could someone explain how air shocks work to a newbie? And possibly how to adjust them?

Oh sorry bro - Yeah u can get kits for it. Or just buy another "T" kit and block off one side of the "T" Pretty sure they're all standard size. At least everyone that i've ever bought fit both gabrial and monroe brands.

520 CI Stroker 440 Engine Problems In 1967 Fury

Hmmm. Been thinking about your problem. A lot of builders do these strokers just for drag racing. They often prefer certain clearances to be slightly tighter because it will last longer. But that only works if the motor is to be run for short periods at a time. Ya know how they do it. Start it...

What rear end came in a 66 Fury III?

It's a california black plate car. Looks really clean and straight. but DMV won't give info on car until I come in with bill of sale and vin#. The whole thing is too much for me. I offered an extra $200 if he puts it in his name and signs it over to me. He says it's easy for me but he won't do...

What rear end came in a 66 Fury III?

Yeah, I typed it - re-typed it - switched it around - re-typed it again. I got turrets really bad and stress over my word usage.

What rear end came in a 66 Fury III?

Was asking about the rear axle because he doesn't know and I cant see the rear in any of the pictures. Yeah, I Agree about the tittle issue. He says it's no problem. So I offered him an extra $200 to put it in his name and sign it over to me. He says he'll think it about. So, It doesn't look...
