Update: Just noticed this vehicle was built in May 1972 when I believe the fuel tank had a change in the vent system if I remember correctly. i know the replacement tank now installed has four vent lines at the front of the tank (but I'm not sure of the exact capacity of the fuel tank).
Update (for post #137): Finally removed the fuel sender float/pickup only to find the brass float I used to repair it a few years ago was full of gasoline. The pickup filter was wasted also. Replaced the float with a plastic version this time and replaced the filter screen. I re-used the rubber...
