    Edelbrock 1403 secondary lockout

Hey guys, my edelbrock 1403 has a secondary lockout. As far as I googled it, this should avoid opening of the mechanical secondaries if the choke is closed. But the secondary lockout lever is dangling around freely. It can even prevent the secondaries from opening, if the choke is fully open...

BORGESON GEAR BOX INSTALL WITH FAST RATIO OR STANDARD PITMAN IDLER ARMS???

I have the borgeson with the bergman connector. the 11-1 slop is only with the engine off. with pressure it works fine. I dont have to correct the direction all the time like on the sloppy old box. A recirculating ball steering box will by design never give you the feedback a rack and pinion...

Ubolts too tight -> distorted axle???

I remember that I wanted to torque it to spec and wasnt comfortable, since the torque was still not reached, but it felt a bit soft, so I stopped. The thread on my U bolts is very fine, with low pitch. presumably thats the reason for the high clamping force with less torque.

Ubolts too tight -> distorted axle???

yes, I hope its still straight. I think mancini and a few others make them. I ll definitely invest a few bucks on that.

Ubolts too tight -> distorted axle???

Hey guys, I disasembled my 8 3/4" (741) rear axle and noticed that I must have obertightened the U bolts. They dug into the axle about 1/8". Can it be that the axle is distorted now? I diasassembled it because at first drive after resto, the rear end was extremely loud and leaking. I think it...

Buckles from seatbelt solutions open under tension

Of course I will not use the seatbelt solution belts. I just wanted to know.

Buckles from seatbelt solutions open under tension

Yeah, i noticed the original buckles are form fitting. No chance to release them with tension without destroying them. And it would take unbelievable force to achieve that. They have just 0421 stamped on the inside of the buckle. So, "FMVSS" should be stamped in too, right? This is very...

Buckles from seatbelt solutions open under tension

you are right, I will do the same. Im just a guy wants to know how things work and why they fail if they do. obviously there are a lot of people who just believe what they are told and ignore the most obvious.

Buckles from seatbelt solutions open under tension

Your picture shows that your buckle is the same design as mine. It will release under enough tension. Its not about deburring or buffing. Its by design. If my drawing doesnt make that clear, nothing will. But its your choice.
