Buckles from seatbelt solutions open under tension

Of course I will not use the seatbelt solution belts. I just wanted to know.

Buckles from seatbelt solutions open under tension

Yeah, i noticed the original buckles are form fitting. No chance to release them with tension without destroying them. And it would take unbelievable force to achieve that. They have just 0421 stamped on the inside of the buckle. So, "FMVSS" should be stamped in too, right? This is very...

you are right, I will do the same. Im just a guy wants to know how things work and why they fail if they do. obviously there are a lot of people who just believe what they are told and ignore the most obvious.

Your picture shows that your buckle is the same design as mine. It will release under enough tension. Its not about deburring or buffing. Its by design. If my drawing doesnt make that clear, nothing will. But its your choice.

If your buckles hold only under laboratory conditions, they suck. And dude, i pull them apart with my hands! And you need a force measurement now?? :D :D Just design the buckle form fitting like the original ones are. There is no need to release for a seatbelt buckle under any circumstances...

I made a drawing that hopefully makes it clear.

Buckles from seatbelt solutions open under tension

Ok, I will do other tests at the weekend. What do you mean with direct pull on the latch? As i understand, you want the buckle to remain stationary when i pull the belt, right? But as already mentioned, the buckle has to release under some amount of tension because its designed like that. Its...

Much better idea. I'll do so at the weekend, because my data rate is limited by now.

I cant tell 100% from this perspective, but Im pretty sure its the same design as mine. You have to pull really hard. Try it with a jerk. If you pm me your email adress, i can send you the video how i pull them apart.

Buckles from seatbelt solutions open under tension

The reason why they release under tension is the design of the buckle. Please take a closer look at my second picture. I marked the spot on the buckle, that engages with the anchor, with a red circle. It is a ramp that is spring loaded. If you pull anchor and buckle apart, the pressure on this...

Buckles from seatbelt solutions open under tension

Thank you for your answer. Im in car development myself and I honestly thought "if I only knew a guy who was involved in testing seatbelts, because maybe there is a situation where the buckle should open". But yeah, I cant think of any such situation.
