While we are kinda on the subject, is it supposed to be a PCV valve in the valve cover on passengers side? This is the way I got the car, it's just some sort of a 90° fitting and goes to bottom of middle carb.

I think I have found the culprit. Bushing is wore down to copper and lots of play when slip yolk is in.

Thanks for your help everyone. I managed to find one on ebay and purchased it. I'm away from home on summer holidays but when I get back home I'll pull it apart and check U joints etc to see if it can find the culprit. If they all check out ok ill get the shaft balance checked.

Here's one for ya. Pulled manifold back off, wiped down the area. Put pressure tester on and pumped it to 18 PSI and not a drop is coming out anywhere and the testers needle hasn't moved in 2 hours. I thought maybe it needed to be warmed up to leak but last night after firing it up it...

Well, I got it all apart, offset boxend was the right tool. But..... Put it all back together fired it up and still leaking. My plan is to pull the manifold back off and pressure test it to see where it's actually leaking from. Either I didn't seal the studs well enough or I have a cracked head.
