Mr Norm's Grand Spaulding? Finding a block that was removed 40 plus years ago would be amazing.....even with social media. I'd spend some energy in any old paperwork you have on the car looking for registration and owner details. As far as the build sheet on the convertible.....back seat...
One may need to look at the push rod sir. Also.....check the gas cap, breather system and venting for the tank. It would be really rare for that to get so bad that it creates a vacuum.
I think the writings on the wall for most of these parts guys. Fuel and access to machining are on the decline and its just too expensive to get the amount of stock needed to run this kind of business. Tony is great fellow.
I highly recommend installing the tube prior to installing tank.....just twist it down a bit and adjust it when strapped in. You will find it impossible to get that neck into the hole under the car. Lube....or no lube. WD 40 is great for a bit of lube that will wash out into the tank. Hit me up...
......that and the stuff OER is making now is even worse. I have no idea what the rebuild cost would be......but given the labor and time getting one back in there.....
