The normal color for the EL is a greenish color. The needles are painted with an orange translucent paint. If the paint was stripped off, the needles would be green as well.

If you decide to use the new RTE voltage limiter, you have to disable the points inside your fuel gauge or the limiter will not function. Thanks, Mark

The needles use the same phosphorus coating as the gauge faces. They are extremely hard to rebuild. I have about a 75 percent success rate. Luckily I also have many spares,. Feel free to call or email, contact info is on my website, www.thegaugedoc.com.

If yours is a 66, the tach sending unit mounts to the forward dash frame under the glovebox. Most likely the board went bad. I install the new RTE solid state tach boards. The old ones were 1950’s technology….and the fix is a new tach board. It has to be calibrated to your tach to read correctly.

OK, so I used a bit of ingenuity and used some plastic wiper bushings from a Dorman wiper bushing kit I found at AutoZone. There are three bushings that needed replacing (actually there were no bushings left) so I had to buy two kits as there are only two of them that fit correctly in each kit...

Hello, My 72 SSP is missing the wiper linkage bushings for both sides. Does anyone have a picture of what these bushings look like installed? The bushings I see for sale on Ebay don't look like they can fit correctly, as there is a large flat washer and circlip that goes over the mounting post...

My passenger side wiper pivot is shot. I'm trying to figure out how to get at it. I'm thinking I have to pull the wiper motor so I can get the linkage to move to the open area in the cowl where I can get at it. Also, anyone know where I could get the push pin clips for this cowl cover? Drivers...

The tach sending unit bracket mounts to the forward edge of the dash frame under the glovebox. It sits right next to the EL powerpack bracket. Once you remove the glovebox it will be easy to see where they mount. Thanks, Mark

The tach sending unit ground is the bracket attached to the dash frame. The sending unit will ground to the bracket with the two mounting screws attaching the sending unit to the bracket. Thanks, Mark
