I have heard of guys using one of these to mount their fan. It will eliminate the clutch all together letting you know if it is the problem. Might not be what you want with a/c.

Like that winch idea. One thing, is your lift bolted down or do you have to tie it to the building to use the winch. Mine isn't bolted down so I would have to tie the lift to the building. Maybe I just need to mount the winch to the building.
