    Anyone near ENID, OAKLAHOMA

I just got back Friday from a long boring week in OK City and would have loved an excuse to get out and look at a truck or classic car for a few hours for a fellow FBBO member. Going forward I will be glad to do that for someone needing that done close to Elberta AL. Good Luck.

    1973 4-speed ID Stamp Pad

My 833 4-speed transmission in my 1973 SSP, which I believe is factory, is not stamped on the ID pad like I was expecting. It is stamped only with "PP 833 4116" which identifies the type of tranny and the Julian date, which are both correct. Although, the "PP" could be an "RP" as it is hard to...

    alternator wire

That red wire, is red because the po or the owner before him replaced that section of the black wire from the alternator, and he used a section of red wire. It is not factory correct.

That is an aftermarket tach that the PO installed.

    alternator wire

Caution. Make sure you check for lose connections and correct voltage coming out of the alternator. After I purchased my 73 Satellite I found melted insulation on the wire from the alternator under the dash at the fuse box. Could have been catastrophic.

    A833 Transmission Stamp

I asked a friend who is a long time Mopar guy this question. He thought the same as you PurpleBeeper. I have looked all over the net and can't find any document that tells what that stamp means. So I think you are correct. Thanks for your input.

If you're over 40, this probably isn't for you

I believe that is very good advice verdelaw. Taking the time needed to look for the car that you want in good condition will save a fortune. I see cars for sale all the time that are 80 or 90% done and the seller says he has 50 g's in a car that he is selling for 25 or 30 g's. In the cases...
