I did look at that option as well, but the parts needed to swap in the Hemi over a Small block cost quite a bit more and I can score a 318 or a 360 and install it old school style for dirt cheap...
Given my budget, and Old school Magnum Small block makes the most sense..

Depending on your budget and goals, your in the same boat I'm in...
440's are not all that cheap to buy and build anymore, compared to 360's...
You can score a decent low mileage 360 out of a Ram or Dakota for practically nothing, and you can get 400 hp out of it for about a Grand in parts...

I've used Chrome Powdercoat before on my Dakota Projects, it actually looks more like Polished Aluminum when it is Clear Powdered......
up keep is super easy and I just wipe the stuff down with alcohol or brake parts cleaner when it needs it......
I've been cleaning a lot of stripped out screws and bolts off the uni-body, removing the last of the salvageable parts that were still on the shell..
I've still got about 4 stripped out screws that held trim to the shell, and a few odds and ends that need removed.

well I made some more Progress today, and I have a couple of fastners with stripped heads, and a galled upper arm cam bolt!
But a few more days and I'll have the rest of the stuff off it and I'll be ready...
I've been using NAPA's line of MS Tech Base, Base and Clears for the last couple of years on my Dakota Projects, the only thing that is going to happen over the next few years will be the phasing out of the High VOC paints for the New Water-based systems.

I've seen the AMD parts for the Road Runner, and these parts fit really well...
as for being made in the USA, it's getting harder to find parts made here at home, if the AMD stuff is made in Taiwan, the seem to fit pretty decent from the looks of the RR they had on display in the AMD...
