Just added an Edelbrock 1411 to my 74 Dodge 400. How do you guys connect the accelerator cable? The original post is too far towards the carb to hook up. That causes te cable to tangle in the choke linkage.
Any ideas?

I agree but I have a high intake and I would have to swap plates over for a more standard carburetor. Anyone know how hard it would be to swap to an Edelbrock for reliability? Or can recommend a simple carb for swapping?

OKay I figured out the issue- its the 750 Holley dbl-pumper. The car sat for a couple weeks and when I went to start it the plugs were fouled out. Gas is getting past the cylinder and exploding in the tailpipe and out the carburetor. Next step, is to replace the wet plugs and get better ones...
I removed the green Tach wire from my ignition coil and have taken the unit off the car. What am I missing here? It feels like my timing is now thrown off? Doesn't make sense.
Here are the 4 wires removed from the TAC.
