Not sure if they are better or worse. I tried red ones in the tail lights and they looked a little more orange than red, so I went back to clear.
I have skinny hands and forearms so I have the luxury of reaching up and removing the bulb holders. That being said, no need to drop the column to remove the cluster on a 66/7 Dodge.
To add to this I would recommend, if financially feasible, to replace the circuit board and voltage limiter...

Great idea, but no one liked putting in new oil that looked like the oil that they just drained.
