73-74 Road Runner center rear bumper filler

Dang, good luck! When I bought mine last year all the vendors had them. Now I can't find them anywhere.

73-74 Road Runner center rear bumper filler

Guess maybe I was lucky that I never could find one of the earlier rolled up reproductions. This one does look pretty darn close to the original part. I used garage door weatherstrip which was definitely so-so. Hopefully when I get this and remove the weatherstrip from the bumper the adhesive...

73-74 Road Runner center rear bumper filler

Looks like the long awaited AMS Obsolete center rear bumper filler reproductions for 73/74 Road Runners are finally here. I ordered one and after it gets here I'll let you know what I think of it...

    AVS bowl vent spring

I still can't find any replacements. If you do have one I will be glad to pay for the part and cost of mailing.

    AVS bowl vent spring

This carb definitely has the bowl vent. The pic shows where the spring should go.

    AVS bowl vent spring

Cool, thanks. Out here in eastern Colorado the only junk yard that has older vehicles is a couple of hours away from me. That will be my last resort!

    AVS bowl vent spring

So I volunteered to rebuild a buddy's AVS for him. Like any favor it comes with challenges. :) On reassembly I noticed the small spring that pushes the bowl vent was missing from his carb. I've searched for hours to try to find someone who sells them. Any ideas? Pic to show what I'm talking...

Stock exhaust manifolds to head gasket

Do you think it would be useful to apply a small bead of Permatex Max Temp Red Gasket Maker or Ultra Copper Maximum Temperature RTV around the ports? I really don't want to have to remove the exhaust manifold to fix a possible leak after the motor is in the car.

Stock exhaust manifolds to head gasket

Hmm, as per MWbirdLOVER70 's comment I was hoping if I needed a gasket to use one that I could cut the extra gasket material away and only used the area for the ports on the gasket. That way the gasket wouldn't be so obvious on a stock build. Exhaust, slight pitting of the head should show in...

Stock exhaust manifolds to head gasket

Any recommendation on brand of gasket?

Stock exhaust manifolds to head gasket

I have always run my stock manifolds with no gasket. When I bought my latest project I didn't hear any exhaust leaks but now that I am reassembling the engine, after getting the heads back from the machine shop, it seems a but of rust has eaten away the surface between the center ports. I...

Dupli-Color DE 1631 Chrysler Blue? 1972 Dodge Charger SE

If that's a factory Six Pack engine I believe they and their air cleaners were all orange. The DUPLICOLOR DE1631 is what I painted my 1973 340 and it looks just right and just like your pictures.

    340 stock cam question

Haven't fired the engine yet. Been working on the rest of the floors, body work and painting the engine compartment and jambs. Discovered that the cam in the engine was a Comp Cams 268H. From receipts I found it seems the last rebuild by the previous owner was in 1994 at an unknown mileage. The...

    Good Source for re-chroming bumpers.

I used D&R Chrome for the bumpers on my '73 RR. Dropped them off at a car show, picked them up several months later at another car show so shipping wasn't involved. Beautiful chrome and the best price I could find. 1-855-324-7663 D&R Chrome
