    1977 CHRYSLER CORDOBA 400 4V

That Crown package roof is a sort of precursor to the later "boat tail" design language on the M body Lebaron coupes. Mine's a 79. Okay... they were actually concurrent, but I think the Doba Crown did come first.

A lot of boxy Cherokees came w 8.25" rears, SureGrip, and 3.55 gears from the factory.

Thoughts on Wheels/Tires for '79 Cordoba

If you're still interested in "unconventional" wheel/tire sizes... Here's a (not great) pic showing 265/60 16s on 16x8s w 4.75" bs on the back. The front has 235/60s on 15x7s, 4.5" bs... but I should have gone 245mm. In this picture the rear ride height is 1" to 1.5" lower than normal... I had...

    Help me choose new wheels

Congratulations on the decision to stagger the wheel diameter...perfect sizes. I've always had a thing for dark wheels, but I'm over the "murdered-out" look...definitely the bottom.

1976 Plymouth fury sport street/strip project

Sweet! Any chance of bringing back the poverty caps? I love that look.

    I'm Baaack!

Welcome back toolguy. I've been "away" for a little bit too...not so's anybody would notice. Glad to hear you've still got that beautiful Cordoba and that you've found some time to work on it, make some passes, AND lose 100(!) lbs, not to mention a marathon(!). Dang...you HAVE been bizzy.

    Rigging question

I always thought the purpose behind lowering the car over the engine/trans/K was that the engine already bolted to the K. Why do you wait until the engine/trans are in place to install the K frame, Sixpactogo?

    Auto Upholstery Virgin No More!

Congratulations. How's the quality of the covers? I've heard mixed reviews on Legendary's stuff.

If its not money, its the time,or the space

Steve from Staten Island is a New Yorker. Bad roads, bad traffic, and prohibitively high garage/storage/parking rates. If NYC wanted you to have a car, Steve, Bloomberg would have issued you one. Move to the 'burbs, man. Maybe NJ or CT. I don't know how anybody can get anything meaningful...

Lee Marvin, Capt Kangaroo & Mr. Rogers..Facts most don`t Know!

If you continue reading the thread you'll see that the Mr Rogers/Capt Kangaroo stories get discredited and that PFC Marvin was wounded at Saipan, not Iwo Jima. Semper Fi.

    What does all this mean

To fill in some blanks here: an 8.75" rear will have a drop out center section, like a Ford 9". If you have no bolts on the rear end cover as viewed from the back, you have an 8.75" rear. Somewhere on it should be a small aluminium tag with the gear ratio. Sometimes these get lost but you can...

What company do you suggest to widen steel wheels?

I'd heard awhile back that Stockton Wheel was out of business too. But I was on thier website just a week or so ago so apparently the rumors of thier death have been greatly exaggerated.

    So sad

Okay, you don't have to be a 100 point resto stickler to see that the red Dart is tacky as Hell. If the bad flame job and ill-fitting wheels weren't enough to sway you, how bout the targa top, weird hood scoop and late model deck lid spoiler? It may have been built out of two piles of crap, so...

    So sad

How does an idea like that even get into someone's head? It would never occur to me to mate a late 70s Firebird nose onto, well...anything really. But a 60s Dart!? That's just weird. The 14x10 Cragars are especially bitchin'.
