I have another speedometer cable from redline gauge works coming. I think the eBay cable is just a cheap parts store cable that’s been cut down to length.
I finally got the right adapter in the car for it to read accurately. I am having issues where the speedometer bounces from 0-50ish mph. Is this because of the new eBay speedometer cable from Rick’s mopars or is my speedometer need to be rebuilt?
there’s nothing to zip tie to unfortunately. If the center console brackets are truely too far forward and crooked then I can get them replaced. I need the car to be right.
Also I’d like to mention I have to force the center console over to the left to get the rear screws in and it rubs the drivers seat but has plenty of room next to the passenger seat.
Hi everyone. I am having an issue where my transmission linkage and torque shaft is hitting my speedometer cable in park. This is causing the speedometer cable to hit the exhaust and burn. I’m wondering if the center console bracket was welded too far forward? I took out the wooden bezel from...
Okay I’m gonna trust that the tire is actually 28 inches like bf Goodrich says and what my circumference measurement said. I’m gonna replace my speedometer cable because it’s way too long and from a discount part store. I also don’t think it was lubricated before it was put in by the shop and...
I did that with a speaker wire and did the math equation to convert it to diameter and got 28.01. But when I do it by measuring just the diameter with a tape measure it looks to be 26.5
Bf Goodrich and the tire calculator online said my 275/60/15 tires are 28 inches in diameter. When i measured them by hand they look to be 26.5 or so. With my new speedometer gear meant for 28 inch tires, the speedometer reads too fast by about 2-4mph around town and even worse on the highway
I just removed the old speedometer gear and it was a 26 tooth so that means to me that the right angle adapter was definitely some sort of ratio adapter. With a 26.5 tire which was what was on the car before and 3.55 gears, it calls for a 35 tooth gear. Not even close!
That’s what I’m thinking. I remember when my dad first got it restored the speedo would read 50 when going 30 and he took it back and they got it a little closer than before but not perfect. I am going to remove it and do things properly by installing a new speedometer gear from Mancini racing.
Is it ok to remove? Do you think that’s how they came originally? I don’t see why it needs a 90 degree adapter and the car is definitely not equipped with cruise control.
