    426 Hemi Build Recommendations

Thanks for the informed opinion and please continue your videos as they are extremely well done....you have a way of taking all of the "mystery" out of Hemi engine. Hope you don't mind if I bounce some questions off of you as I am building my first Hemi, although I have built and raced countless...

    426 Hemi Build Recommendations

Hey Rick.....loved your hemi build videos and gained alot of knowledge from you and would highly recommend anyone building one or just looking to see what the deal is with them to watch them also. Do you have any knowledge about the company in Canada making roller rocker set-ups for a reasonable...

Metal gas line going to carb?

I believe NHRA allows only a foot of rubber line Total....too many cars have burned up from these hoses that deteriorate and the worm clamps loosening up, or no flange on the end of metal line to keep it from sliding off when loose....etc.....I could go on, but you can make one fairly easily...

Steering box to K-frame stripped nuts

One thing comes to mind here after seeing the picture of the K-Frame......was it "powder coated" ? If so, ALL the threaded holes should have a thread chaser run thru them or tap to clean the coating that gets into everything that you don't want it too and will Freeze Up any bolts passing thru it.

    Sticky Ignition switch

They will chew them selves up quickly if not lubed after cleaning....most factory fresh cylinders have a thick grease in them. I cleaned one up on my own 96 ram a while back and didn't lube it well and it didn't last long...lucky it was my own and not a customers.

Anti freeze leak and Barrs sealer question

I have used Moroso Ceramic engine sealant in an emergency....it sealed a leaking head gasket on a 14:1 race motor at the track and held up until I had time to pull the heads off and replace the gasket. They make a version to use with anti-freeze and one for no anti-freeze. It was in an 23T...

When to drill holes in the throttle plates?

I would suggest dropping the Holley Tech Dept. an e-mail and giving them your detailed info and they will give you some good advice on what route to take....picking up one of their books on setting/modifying carbs up and making it run as you would like it too. Don't be afraid to try things...

    Frustration

I've had to run a die grinder to elongate the holes and then they lined up better on some intakes....should be able to see which way to go by setting the manifold on it and aligning it with a couple punches or studs. I thought I was the only guy who got all of that weird stuff.....

    MSD Question

I have installed dozens of the MSD set-ups for my own use and customers and have not had one fail yet. MSD website will tell you which Coil to use with it like a 8202 blaster coil to keep it working and make it last. These will fire your car quicker and dirty plugs are a thing of the past as are...

What will wake up a 400 engine?

From a lot of past experience....Do a Good Tune-up on it, check timing chain slop, and a compression test or better yet a Leak Down to see what over-all condition it's in. Most big-blocks respond favorably with a set of the correct size hedders and free flowing exhaust. Also a re-curve on the...
