That brake system on the semis was forced on the trucking industry in about 1975. It was called the 121 anti lock system. I went to Mack school in Allentown in 1978. Theirs was hydraulic over air disc. The whole trucking industry took a big hit for following the government mandate. We rear ended...
I got that beat. Years ago just starting out I stuck a chain saw sharpening file in the spark plug hole of a chevy small block to check top of piston stroke. Snapped the sucker right off. That one cost me a head set and time to do it. Still not sure why I used a file? I never stuck anything...
My 70 Cuda 4 spd has that exact mount. Both my 70 Roadrunners 4 spds have the square flat mount. According to Jamie Passion the mount for 66 4spd goes down inside the support instead of in front of it.
Thank you It is going in a 66 3spd manual and the parts manual has a different part number for the 4 spd. The left one is a spare for 70 B and E body non overdrive. Jamie Passion just called me back and confirmed what you said and has the correct mount. I am picking it up at his place Saturday...
66 Ply Satellite going from 3spd manual to 4 spd overdrive from Passion. Tailstock mount location is 17 3/4” from face of trans. I don’t have in my cars anything with that far back trans mount. Checked Duster, Roadrunner, Cuda. Any idea what tailstock is on this trans? Thanks
I bought a brand new 74 Rr that I ordered. It was a 400 4 barrel with 4 speed and 3.55 gears. Power brakes. No PS. or Ac. I spun a rod bearing down shifting into 2nd gear trying to keep up to a 68 302 Z28 when he shifted. There was only 1,300 miles on it. Warranty put a new crank and rod in it.
If you have brake fluid or axle seal starting to leak onto the shoes, that wheel will lock up. Easy way to tell is if hot water wipes it off, its brake fluid. Grease will just smear.
